Tensura: Monsterization
What if ordinary Minecraft creatures could gradually become part of Tensura’s monster ecosystem?
Tensura: Monsterization adds that idea to Minecraft.
Instead of replacing vanilla mobs when they spawn, existing creatures can accumulate magical exposure over time and, where a valid path exists, transform into appropriate Tensura species.
Alpha 1: Wolf → Direwolf
The first supported monsterization path is:
Vanilla Wolf → Tensura: Reincarnated Direwolf
A normal Minecraft wolf can gradually monsterize if it spends enough loaded time in a sufficiently magicule-rich environment.
Ordinary areas are safe. High-magicule areas are where the process begins.
With the default balance:
- Plains (~500 area magicule): no natural monsterization
- Ancient Forest (~20,000): about 3 loaded hours
- Barren Land (~46,000): about 73 minutes
Progress is persistent. Leaving a magicule-rich area pauses natural progression rather than resetting it, and unloaded time does not count.
Tensura Naming
Tensura’s magical naming system can also trigger monsterization.
Successful Evolve or Endow naming can turn a vanilla wolf directly into a Direwolf.
Subdue keeps Tensura’s normal costs and rewards and uses its own eligibility check.
Ordinary Minecraft Name Tags remain cosmetic and do not trigger monsterization.
What Happens After Transformation?
The result is the real Direwolf from Tensura: Reincarnated.
From that point onward, Tensura controls its normal:
- skills
- attributes
- AI
- later racial evolution
- other Tensura mechanics
Tensura: Monsterization does not add a duplicate Direwolf race or separate evolution tree.
Tamed wolves preserve supported state where possible, including:
- owner
- tame relationship
- custom name
- sitting/posture state
- health proportion
- appropriate effects
- confirmed transferable acquired skills
Unsupported equipment is handled safely rather than silently deleted where possible.
Environmental Monsterization
Natural monsterization only begins when local magicule concentration rises above the configured environmental minimum.
By default:
- the minimum is 5,000
- exactly 5,000 contributes zero
- only magicules above that value contribute toward exposure
- stored progress is not lost when the environment becomes safer
- unloaded time does not add progress
- denser magicule environments speed the process up
This addon does not add animal magicule poisoning or environmental damage.
It also does not suppress damage or effects caused by Tensura itself or other mods.
