# Tempest Interface 0.3.66 — cumulative changelog

Tempest Interface replaces Minecraft and Tensura's main interface with a custom Tensura-themed presentation: animated title artwork, redesigned menus, a character Codex, race-selection screens, HUD themes and eight skill slots per preset.

This changelog covers the features and fixes present in the latest release compared with the original interface, including improvements retained from earlier versions. Optional integrations appear when their corresponding mods are installed.

**Multiplayer requires Tempest Interface on both the server/host and every client.** Its artwork and menus render on the client, while the expanded skill-slot system also needs server support.

## Title screen, menus and settings

- Replaced the title screen with custom artwork and an animated scene, while keeping the menu labels and click targets stable.
- Added Tensura-themed navigation for Singleplayer, Multiplayer, Realms, Mods, Options and Quit, using their normal Minecraft/NeoForge actions.
- Applied a consistent visual style to world selection/creation, server lists, Realms pages, resource-pack selection, the Mods list and supported configuration screens.
- Restyled buttons, sliders, checkboxes, text fields, lists, tabs and headings so supported settings pages match the interface.
- Reorganized the main Options page into responsive categories while preserving each setting's normal behaviour.
- Supported Sodium and Iris settings pages use the same visual styling when those mods are present.
- Replaced the standard pause-button arrangement with a radial menu around the Tensura seal. Available actions still depend on whether you are playing locally or on a server.
- Corrected pause-menu compatibility: only recognized pause actions become wheel segments, with one visible control per action. Essential's controls, other mod buttons and unrelated text keep their own placement.
- Added **Options → User Interface** for selecting a HUD, previewing it, editing its layout and choosing the game's font.
- Added **Smooth, Engraved and Pixel** font choices. Changes apply immediately to supported menus, chat, tooltips and HUD text, with fallback glyphs for unsupported symbols and scripts.
- Improved font sizing, bold text, label alignment and search-field layouts across different GUI scales, including the creative inventory search field.

## The Tempest Codex

The survival inventory and Tensura's main menu now open one shared character interface.

- **E** opens the **Character** tab; Tensura's menu key, normally **B**, opens **Status**.
- Added a shared header with character identity, race, EP, portrait, rank decoration and shortcuts to available addon pages.
- Added themed tabs, tooltips, confirmation windows, notification badges and Sage-style text guidance.
- **Tab / Shift+Tab** cycle available tabs, and **Ctrl+1–5** jump directly to a tab.
- The menu adapts to large, regular, compact and small layouts, including layouts down to 320×240 GUI pixels.
- Creative mode retains access to the normal creative inventory.
- The Codex hides the gameplay HUD, minimap and other HUD layers while open, keeping them from showing through the menu.

### Character

- Combined inventory, armour, offhand and 2×2 crafting with a themed character model stage.
- Added Health, Spiritual Health, Magicule and Aura readings, active effects with timers, and an attribute panel with source tooltips.
- Added a race card with alignment, next-evolution information and progress.
- Added direct **Accessories** and **Backpack** access with Curios and Sophisticated Backpacks.
- Preserved normal inventory interactions and crafting behaviour. Inventory slots return to their normal positions when leaving the Codex.

### Status

- Added a character sheet for identity, active title, race, alignment, awakening and reset history.
- Added clearer EP and energy displays, including base/bonus information where available.
- Added Demon Lord / True Hero awakening actions with confirmation and an appropriate choice when both routes are available.
- Brought supported addon pages together through Honours and Archives shortcuts, including titles, prestige, quest books, skill locks, race information and the Evolution Tree.
- Long identity/effect names are clipped cleanly and remain readable through hover information. Effect chips retain their level and duration.

### Abilities

- Combined **Skills, Magic and Battlewill** in one tab with search, filters, mastery information and a detail panel.
- Added eight visible binding slots, nine selectable presets, preset renaming and mode selection.
- Skills can be bound by dragging onto a slot, selecting a skill and slot, selecting a slot and skill, pressing a slot's binding key, or Shift-clicking into the first empty slot.
- Added slot-to-slot swapping, clear actions, mode cycling and inspection through the slot controls.
- Binding feedback distinguishes a pending server update from a refused binding, rather than silently showing an assignment that never happened.
- Added visible key labels and feedback for conflicts with the ability-mode key.
- Added a searchable **All resistances** view showing owned, learning and unowned Resistance/Nullification skills.
- With **Tensura Rebalanced**, ability details and supported tooltips show live costs, cooldowns, scaling and **How to obtain** information. Resistance guides include training, race/skill sources, prices and awakening conversions.

### Evolution

- Added a current-form seal, progress rings and a list of available evolutions with their requirement progress.
- Requirements show individual checks and progress instead of only a single unexplained locked state.
- Added **Track** to follow a chosen evolution and **Evolve** with confirmation when its requirements are met.
- Added awakening controls and a direct link to the full-screen Evolution Tree.
- Duplicate next-form entries are shown once. Impossible routes receive an appropriate locked state instead of looking ready.

### Prestige and quests

- With **Slime Throne Extras**, the fifth Codex tab becomes **Prestige** and integrates its progression into the Tempest design.
- Added Overview, Daily, Weekly, Repeatable, Required, Race Prestige and Skill Locks sections.
- Prestige shows level, progress, Soul Grade, the next threshold, relevant counters, quest progress and rewards.
- Skill Locks have a searchable list, current lock capacity, real costs, unmet requirements and Lock/Unlock confirmation windows.
- Slime Throne Extras' original Prestige and Skill Lock entry points open the matching Codex section when replacement is enabled.
- Prestige reads synchronized server data, displays a loading state while waiting and refreshes expired repeatable quests.
- **FTB Quests** remains accessible through Quest Book shortcuts and its pinned-quest tracker. When Slime Throne Extras is absent, FTB Quests can supply the fifth **Quests** tab instead.

## Eight skill slots per preset

- Expanded the normal three-slot bar to **eight usable skill slots in each of the nine presets**.
- Added five rebindable activation keys. Skills support press, hold and release behaviour, mode changes, and applicable mouse-wheel/number-key sub-actions through the extra slots.
- Skills designed to work while equipped in the active preset can use the expanded preset.
- Existing first-three-slot bindings remain in place. The default bindings are:

| Slot | Default key | Slot | Default key |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Z | 5 | Grave accent (`) |
| 2 | X | 6 | U |
| 3 | C | 7 | F6 |
| 4 | Mouse 4 | 8 | F9 |

- All slot keys can be changed under **Controls → Tensura:Reincarnated**.
- Nightmare/Nightmare Utils deep slots are preserved separately and can appear in their own three-slot mini-bar.
- Releasing a held extra-slot skill releases the same skill/mode originally pressed, even if the slot changed during the hold.
- Server-side validation rejects invalid preset/slot requests and protects reserved deep-slot storage. Preset loading and `/ability` slot handling support the expanded layout.
- Required connection negotiation prevents clients and servers from using incompatible slot support.

## Redesigned HUD and custom layouts

- Added the original **Tempest HUD**: a liquid Health orb, Spiritual Health ring, Magicule/Aura bars, gilded hotbar/offhand area and eight-slot skill bar.
- Added key labels, cooldown sweeps, toggled-skill indicators, preset feedback, race-ability and dodge sockets, and a mode ledger using the current mode key.
- Retained gameplay readings such as experience and status information, with layouts that respond to available screen space.
- Added configurable bar numbers, compact/Tensura number formatting, HUD scaling, key caps, colour-blind patterns and low-health warning behaviour.
- Chat and compatible HUD elements are positioned to clear the vitals and action bar. Supported analysis and addon overlays are placed around the new layout.
- With FTB Chunks, the minimap receives a themed frame and can be placed at the bottom-right. Its initial placement is applied once so later player choices can be preserved.
- With FTB Quests, pinned quests remain visible through the supported tracker placement.
- Added **13 HUD choices**, with custom artwork and arrangements:

| Theme | Main layout | Alternative layout |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Tempest | Original Health orb and energy tubes | — |
| Slime | Slime emblem, gel bars and bubble skills | Slime: Dome |
| Demon Lord | Horned crest, blade bars and diamond skill sockets | Demon Lord: Crest |
| True Hero | Winged halo, sword bars and shield skills | True Hero: Sword |
| Storm Dragon | Dragon eye, horns, scales and lightning | Storm Dragon: Horns |
| Predator | Vortex, fangs and portal skills | Predator: Maw |
| Great Sage | Rune circles, magical bars and spell-circle skills | Great Sage: Reticle |

- HUD changes apply immediately. The options preview uses your live character when available, or example values outside a world, and supports zooming and dragging.
- Narrow displays fall back to a layout that fits instead of forcing a large themed HUD off-screen.

### HUD editor

- Added **Options → User Interface → Customise layout** to move visible HUD parts while seeing the world and HUD beneath the editor.
- Vitals, status, skills and the action bar can be moved through their handles, with positions saved for the selected HUD type.
- With FTB Chunks, drag the minimap to move it or drag a corner to resize it.
- Added **Odd, Even and Off** grid modes with optional snapping. Grid/snapping preferences are remembered.
- Right-click resets an individual HUD part; reset controls restore the layout's positions.
- Improved editor alignment for scaled HUD parts and minimap resizing, keeping handles and snapping consistent with the visible layout.

## Tempest Rebirth — race selection

- Replaced the standard race-selection screen with a custom presentation for first character creation, Race Reset Scrolls and Reincarnation magic.
- Shows the available races from the installed mods and active selection rules, grouped by difficulty, with sorting by difficulty, name, starting EP or family.
- Search can find races through names, skills and evolution forms. Click the search field or press **Ctrl+F** to type; ordinary navigation keys remain usable elsewhere.
- Added a scaled body preview, race portraits/emblems, written appraisal and starting energy information.
- The main stat ledger displays **Health, Spiritual Health, Attack, Move and Size**. Attack speed is available in Attack's tooltip.
- Random and Insect selections show appropriate pool/body ranges instead of presenting a single guaranteed body.
- Added clearer race traits: alignment, food/breath needs, applicable damage weaknesses, flight and awakening possibilities.
- Starting skills distinguish immediate grants from skills that must be learned. With Tensura Rebalanced, supported tooltips add live costs, modes, mastery changes and other detailed behaviour.
- The main screen gives a compact evolution summary and a **See all evolution paths** action, leaving more room for the body preview.
- Both side columns can collapse through their chevrons or **Ctrl+L** / **Ctrl+I**. The screen remembers column choices and adapts when there is too little room for both.
- Added guided tours for race selection and Evolution Paths. Tours highlight the control being explained, can be skipped and can be replayed from the **Tour** button.
- Random selection shows the actual eligible pool, odds and ranges; **Ctrl+R** selects Random where available.
- Reincarnation magic shows its own resulting energy values and identifies races beyond that magic's reach.

### Confirming a race

- Added **Seal the Rite**, explaining the selected race, starting energy/skills and the consequences relevant to first life, a reset or Reincarnation magic.
- Hold the seal or confirmation key for **1.2 seconds** to commit. A configurable two-click option is available through `rebirthSealTwoClicks`.
- Confirmation is submitted once, preventing repeated input from applying a second choice during the same submission.
- Race selection remains active until a valid choice is submitted. Returning after leaving the game before choosing allows onboarding to continue.
- Highlighting a race changes only its preview. Fixed the singleplayer interaction where browsing a sun-burning race could apply that race's penalties to the real character before confirmation.
- If the custom race screen fails, it falls back to Tensura's original screen on the same selection menu. The race-screen replacement can also be disabled in the client configuration.

## Evolution Paths, Race Compendium and Evolution Tree

- Added **All paths / Ctrl+P** to inspect a race's full progression before choosing it.
- Larger Evolution Paths layouts use a radial map: the starting form is at the centre, with successive evolution steps arranged in outer rings and branches distinguished by colour.
- Forms display names and portraits where space permits. Zoom and drag explore deep trees; selecting a form highlights its road while dimming other branches.
- Compact layouts retain a fitted layered graph. Layered graphs use clearer forks, branch spacing, labels and highlighted routes.
- Added a race list alongside Evolution Paths, with search and previous/next-race navigation, so another race can be inspected without leaving the page.
- **The Road To** lists the steps and requirements for the selected form, an **All together** summary, alternative entry routes, granted skills and body comparisons.
- Body comparisons include Spiritual Health immediately after Health, using the same race data as the main ledger.
- Long paths retain intermediate requirements when visually folded. Repeated threshold requirements use the appropriate highest requirement rather than adding the same progression counter repeatedly.
- Insect has filters for its different body families. Supported hidden/conditional branches and awakening routes receive their relevant conditions.
- Awakening labels distinguish **available from birth**, **available through later evolution**, and **available through a skill/item route**. They no longer treat a non-Majin starting body as proof that Demon Lord awakening is impossible forever.
- Added a read-only **Race Compendium** through Codex Status/Archives. It reuses the race presentation so existing characters can browse other races, skills and paths without submitting a new race choice.
- Added a full-screen **Evolution Tree** for your current character's family, accessible from Status and Evolution.
- The tree marks your current form, next forms, tracked paths and unreachable routes, with live requirement checks and Track/Evolve actions.
- Forms shared by more than one family can show the relevant family choices. Esc returns to the Codex; inventory/menu keys can return to gameplay.
- The Evolution Tree falls back to Tensura's original screen when its replacement is disabled or encounters a contained failure.

## Themed containers, icons and addon access

- Restyled supported chests/barrels/ender chests, crafting tables, furnaces/blast furnaces/smokers, shulker boxes, hoppers, dispensers/droppers and brewing stands.
- Added themed labels, frames, title plates, slot highlights and decorative borders where space permits.
- Supported Sophisticated Backpacks/Storage, Curios and Nature's Aura Ender Crates use matching textures and screen details.
- Container slot positions and normal item interactions are preserved. Clicking decorative frame areas with an item no longer counts as dropping it outside the container.
- Sophisticated search/settings controls and Curios labels are adjusted to fit their themed screens.
- The built-in **Tempest Interface theme** resource pack supplies the cross-mod texture overrides. A player's resource pack can be placed above it; affected container decorations step aside when that higher pack supplies a different body texture.
- Added missing/replacement skill icons in the bundled theme so supported books, menus, skill bars and race pages can display proper artwork instead of missing-texture or placeholder images.
- JEI can remain available beside supported Codex tabs, with decorative areas and popovers accounted for in its placement. Race onboarding and full-screen progression browsing keep their presentation clear.
- FTB Library sidebars are kept out of the Codex, while World Map, Quest Book, Curios, Backpack and supported addon/archive pages remain available through dedicated shortcuts.
- Optional addon information includes supported prestige, titles, cultivation and Bloodfiend HUD data without requiring every integration mod to be installed.

## Accuracy, performance and reliability

- Race information reads supported live settings rather than relying only on fixed preview values. Corrected affected Dragonoid, Monkey, Insect and other race displays.
- With Tensura Rebalanced, evolved-form EP displays read its synchronized evolution minimums and reflect its current race body/flight/sunlight changes. Minimum capacities are presented as race data, rather than guaranteed flat EP payouts.
- Updated flight labels for the five Rebalanced starters' 20,000 maximum-EP direct-flight gate and corrected the later undead sunlight information when that companion is present.
- Positioned the character-preview tooltip beside the model. Health, Spiritual Health, Attack, Move and Size tiles remain drawn beneath overlays instead of disappearing when a tooltip touches them.
- Improved long labels, hover cards, panel clipping, requirement text and small-layout navigation.
- Delayed toasts during race onboarding so they do not interrupt the selection presentation.
- Cached reusable text, graphs, layout data and Health-orb geometry to reduce repeated work and menu stutter.
- Opaque race selection, Race Compendium and Evolution Tree screens can skip drawing the hidden world behind them. The translucent Codex retains its world background.
- Session data, held-skill state and addon synchronization are reset appropriately when leaving a server, avoiding stale information from a previous world.
- UI replacements can be configured individually. The client master switch restores the original visual screens/HUD; expanded preset storage remains a separate common feature.

## Installation and configuration

- Built for **Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge**, with **Tensura: Reincarnated** and **ManasCore** required.
- Install the matching Tempest Interface release on both multiplayer clients and the server/host. Disabling its visual features does not remove the pairing requirement or undo expanded preset storage.
- Existing worlds and characters can continue playing. Update the jar and restart Minecraft/the server to load the new release.
- Visual preferences are stored in `config/tensura_interface-client.toml`; shared skill-slot settings are in `config/tensura_interface-common.toml`.
- HUD themes, fonts and layout editing are available in-game through **Options → User Interface**. Further interface/accessibility controls are available through the Codex's Interface options and configuration.

Tensura Rebalanced supplies the separate race balance, EP progression, damage and skill-combat changes. Tempest Interface provides the presentation of supported companion information alongside its own UI and expanded skill slots.
