Description
Swinging Hanging Signs
Hanging signs in Minecraft hang frozen in place, even in a thunderstorm. This mod makes them move like real signs on chains: they rock gently in the breeze, swing harder when the weather turns, and when you walk into one it swings away, overshoots a little and slowly settles back.
It is a small client-side mod. Nothing needs to be installed on the server, it works in singleplayer and on any server, and it only changes how signs look, never the blocks themselves.
Features
- Idle sway - every hanging sign rocks very slightly and slowly. Each sign has its own timing, so a row of signs never moves in sync.
- Wind and weather - signs swing more in rain and much more in a thunderstorm. Gusts rise and fall over time.
- Push - players, mobs, dropped items and minecarts that move past or under a sign push it in their direction.
- Realistic motion - each sign is a small damped spring that pivots at the top, where the chains attach, so it swings, overshoots and settles like the real thing.
- Wall signs - signs hung from a wall bracket swing too, or you can switch them off.
Design
- Client-side only - works on any server, including vanilla ones.
- Visual only - blocks, hitboxes, gameplay and world data are untouched.
- Cheap - only signs on screen are simulated, and signs at rest cost almost nothing.
