Description

Stalker.jar

Something gets into your house on the second night. You have seven days.

It doesn't spawn in caves. It doesn't drop anything. For six days you can't kill it — you can only
make somewhere it can't follow you into.

---

 The seven nights

Night 2 — It's in the house. You catch it at the end of a hallway. Looking straight at it stops
it. Turning away doesn't.

Night 3 — It starts walking. A message on your screen: it is 1000 blocks away from you. The
number counts down. The sky turns red, the ground breaks apart around you, and you can't place a
single block for twenty-three seconds. Then the number runs out.

Night 4 — The wool. One white block appears and starts spreading. Whatever it touches turns to
wool and stops being yours — so the room you were safe in stops being safe, one block at a time.
Stand in it and you get taken somewhere else.

Night 5 — The big one. A red cloud forms on the horizon and something thirty blocks tall climbs
out of it. It walks at you in a dead straight line and smashes through anything in the way, including
your house. When it reaches you the screen goes black.

You wake up somewhere with a blue sky. Flat grass, trees in perfect rows, a sun that never moves.
There are people standing in the field. They're black, they're your shape, and they have white eyes.
They don't chase you. They just get closer whenever you're not looking at them, and they vanish in
smoke if you get too near.

Day 7 — It stops running. It comes for you in broad daylight with a health bar. Three phases,
shockwaves, explosions, fire and ice. This is the only fight in the mod.

---

 How you survive

Build a room and light it. Enclosed, lit, and lived in — that space is yours and it can't come
in. It'll stand outside and wait for you.

Hitting it doesn't work. Not for six days. It goes down for a few seconds, gets up, and keeps
coming. Those seconds are for running.

On day 7 that flips. The seconds it's down are suddenly the only seconds you can hurt it.

The dark is real. No light means no light. A torch is the difference between seeing and not
seeing.

> Play it with The Darkness
>
> I made a shaderpack for this mod. Every other pack keeps the darks lifted so you can still see in
> an unlit room — which quietly removes the point of a horror mod built on not being able to see.
> The Darkness doesn't do that.
>
> It needs Oculus. Grab it from my other CurseForge page — it's free and it's the way this mod is
> meant to be played.

It digs. Mine long enough and you'll find a side tunnel off your own — torches and all — that you
don't remember cutting. Something's asleep at the end of it. Sneak past and it stays asleep.

---

 Win or lose

Kill it and it's gone for good.

Lose and the whole week starts again — one heart down. The hearts don't come back, so you get as many
attempts as you have hearts.

Run out and the world locks you out.

(Nothing is deleted. `/housestalker pardon` undoes it.)

---

 Also included

- A hotel — 32 floors of numbered doors, behind a door that appears in your house
- A wool world — your world and your house rebuilt in felt
- A built-in cinematic mode — `/hsshader on` for ambient occlusion, sun shadows and film grain,
if you'd rather not install Oculus (it turns itself off automatically if you do)
- Full config — every night, distance and chance is tunable, including turning permanent hearts
  off entirely
