StableCap Pacer

High-precision frame pacing for smoother capped FPS in modded Minecraft (Forge 1.19.2). Client-side only.

StableCap Pacer — Smoother Capped FPS

StableCap Pacer is a client-side performance utility designed to make capped FPS feel smoother and more consistent.

Instead of increasing maximum FPS, StableCap uses a high-precision frame pacer to reduce frame-time jitter and micro-stutter while playing with an FPS limit. When your system can maintain the selected target, frames are delivered at more consistent intervals for a steadier overall experience.

The mod works with any FPS cap. 120 FPS is only the default—you can choose 60, 90, 120, 144, 165, 240, or another target that fits your hardware and display.

A steadier frame limit without chasing higher numbers.

  • High-precision frame pacing for capped gameplay.

  • Reduced frame-time jitter when the selected target can be maintained.

  • Helps minimize micro-stutter caused by inconsistent capped-frame delivery.

  • Supports any practical FPS target rather than locking players to 120 FPS.

  • Simple configuration through stablecap-client.toml.

  • Fully client-side—servers do not need StableCap Pacer installed.

  • Designed to improve consistency without changing gameplay or world content.

Set one cap and let StableCap handle the pacing.

  1. Open Minecraft Video Settings.

  2. Set Max Framerate to Unlimited so Minecraft does not apply a second competing frame limit. A value such as 260 may also be used when it remains safely above your StableCap target.

  3. Launch the game once so StableCap creates its configuration file.

  4. Open config/stablecap-client.toml.

  5. Change targetFps = 120 to your preferred frame-rate cap.

  6. Save the file and launch the game using the new target.

Recommended Target Ranges

For the most stable feel, set StableCap slightly below your monitor’s maximum refresh rate:

  • 120 Hz monitor: 117–119 FPS

  • 144 Hz monitor: 141–143 FPS

  • 165 Hz monitor: 162–164 FPS

  • 240 Hz monitor: 237–239 FPS

These are recommended starting ranges, not required values. You can use any target that your system can maintain consistently.

Built for consistency—not artificial FPS gains.

  • Installation: Client side only

  • Server installation: Not required

  • Configuration file: config/stablecap-client.toml

  • Default target: 120 FPS

  • Supported targets: Any user-selected FPS cap

StableCap improves frame pacing, not maximum performance. It cannot force the game to produce frames that the system is unable to render.

CPU stalls, chunk generation, world updates, shader load, heavy rendering, and other performance bottlenecks can still cause drops below the selected target. StableCap makes capped FPS feel steadier when the computer can keep up with the configured limit.
