Outbreak EPCA Performance Compatibility

Reduces severe server lag from E-PCA's repeated AI and horde scans without limiting infection spawns or changing progression.

Outbreak EPCA Performance Compatibility — Smoother Large-Scale Outbreaks

Outbreak EPCA Performance Compatibility is a lightweight performance addon designed for End-Parasitize and Convert All (E-PCA) on Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.

E-PCA can produce large infected hordes, causing several AI operations to become increasingly expensive as more infected appear. This addon reduces unnecessary repeated calculations involving target searches, nearby light sources, group behavior, and shared pathfinding to improve smoothness during large outbreaks.

The goal is straightforward: improve client and server performance while preserving the scale, progression, and behavior of the original E-PCA experience.

Early Beta — Version-Specific Compatibility

This release is an early beta built specifically for E-PCA 0.3.5 and 0.3.5m.

Future E-PCA versions may change internal behavior that this addon depends on. New versions will require compatibility testing before they are officially supported, so do not assume an unlisted E-PCA release is compatible.

Additional updates will focus on compatibility, reliability, performance tuning, and any edge cases discovered during larger outbreaks or multiplayer testing.

Smoother outbreaks without reducing their intended scale.

  • Reduces unnecessary repeated AI target-search calculations.

  • Reduces repeated checks involving nearby light sources.

  • Improves the handling of expensive group-behavior operations.

  • Reduces redundant shared-pathfinding work where possible.

  • Helps improve client smoothness when large numbers of infected are active.

  • Helps reduce server workload during heavily populated outbreaks.

  • Does not impose an artificial infected-population cap.

What This Addon Does Not Change

  • The intended number of infected is not reduced.

  • Natural infected spawning remains enabled.

  • Spawn eggs remain functional.

  • Infection progression, evolution, and conversion remain unchanged.

  • Combat behavior, health, damage, and special abilities remain unchanged.

  • The original E-PCA JAR and assets are not replaced, modified, or redistributed.

Less repeated work as infected numbers increase.

Large groups of active entities can repeatedly perform costly searches and behavior checks. As an outbreak grows, those repeated operations can place increasing pressure on both the client and server.

Outbreak EPCA Performance Compatibility reduces unnecessary repetition in selected E-PCA AI operations involving targets, nearby light sources, group behavior, and shared movement calculations. It is designed to lower avoidable overhead while leaving E-PCA’s intended gameplay systems intact.

The addon works alongside E-PCA as a separate compatibility layer. It does not replace the original mod, alter its distributed files, or function as a standalone infection mod.

Built specifically for E-PCA 0.3.5 and 0.3.5m.

  • Minecraft: Java Edition 1.20.1

  • Mod loader: Forge 47.x

  • Java: 17

  • Required mod: End-Parasitize and Convert All 0.3.5 or 0.3.5m

  • Multiplayer installation: Install on both the client and server

  • Singleplayer installation: Install in the normal Minecraft instance

Outbreak EPCA Performance Compatibility is a separate addon and requires E-PCA to provide the infected entities and gameplay systems it optimizes.

Only the listed E-PCA versions are officially supported by this beta release. Back up your instance before testing unsupported combinations, and verify compatibility before updating E-PCA in an established pack or server.

End-Parasitize and Convert All is a separate project. Ownership and credit for E-PCA and its assets remain with their respective creators.
