*However, with reward comes risk, caves are now much more dangerous and are loaded with falling stone blocks, spikes and powderboxes
*Dozens of new blocks: new ore, world blocks (pots, etc), decor, dangerous traps and useful utilities like ropes and crates
*Lots of new items: treasure (golden idols! nuggets! sapphires! rubies!), mattocks/gem tools, bombs, ropes, new weapons, unique ranged weapons (freeze ray! webgun! trusty ol shotgun!) and cool equipment (jump shoes! climbing gloves! cape! jetpack!)
*Structures: mini-mineshafts, treasure vaults and golden idol traps...
*Custom mod random environment music (mines music)
*Dynamic light
*Curse of Undying, a respawn penalty that prevents healing and reduces health/hunger for a short period
*Fall damage stunning, entities get temp-stunned if they take fall damage
*The above three features are also config-options

FAQ
Q: What is Spelunky?
A: Spelunky is a vertical roguelike by Derek Yu, with inspiration from treasure-hunting cliches and Indiana Jones. It features permadeath, random level generation, high difficulty and an emphasis on mastering mechanics, emergent gameplay and making decisions on the spot based on level-gen and unpredictable but predictable enemy AI.
