Soulbound Summoner (0.0.0-beta.1)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
v0.0.0-beta.1 - First release: The Summoner on NeoForge 1.21.1
First public build of Soulbound Summoner, a NeoForge 1.21.1 port of The Summoner by Daveyx0 (CC BY-NC 3.0). The original work has been modified. Requires Mobweave Core.
Features
- Summoner Orb and Enhanced Summoner Orb: capture a mob (kill it with an empty orb in your inventory, or right-click it in creative mode) and release it as a temporary ally that follows you and fights for you. Sneak + right-click an ally to make it stay or follow. Allies return to the orb when they fall.
- Summoner Illager: summons random groups of mobs. Right-click it with an Ender Eye to turn it into a five-wave boss with a boss bar. Loot, spawn egg and a rare Overworld spawn.
- Summon groups as data: 5 normal and 5 boss groups (33 mobs) in
data/soulbound_summoner/summon_groups/, replaceable with a datapack. - Config:
mobBlacklist(mobs the orb can not capture) and a client option to hide the spirit overlay.
Technical Changes
- Ported from Forge 1.12.2 to NeoForge 21.1.249 (Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21) on top of Mobweave Core. Own id
soulbound_summoner. - Capability became a data attachment, orb NBT became a data component, networking uses custom payloads.
- Not ported: the in-game edit mode (replaced by datapacks), riding summoned mobs and the Just Enough Resources integration. The illager uses the vanilla evoker model with the original textures.
Beta: the mod builds and the dedicated server starts cleanly, but it has not been played in-game yet. Expect rough edges in the illager, boss waves, ally AI and rendering. Non-commercial use only (CC BY-NC 3.0).
