What's new
SoloCraft: Forgeworks 0.6.0
This update is built around feedback from the comments: late-game gear took hours of grinding to make and could be lost in a single bad fight. It no longer can be.
Repair Station
A new mana-powered workstation, two blocks wide and two tall.
- Three slots, all repairing at once. Each item regains 1% of its maximum durability per second, for 1 mana per point, drawn from the mana network.
- Repairs any Forgeworks or SoloCraft gear that takes damage, including broken Forgeworks gear.
- The items float over the station's pedestals while they repair, with mana arcing onto them from the crystals above.
- Crafted from 3 B-rank mana crystals, 2 C-rank crystal alloy, a comparator and 3 crying obsidian.
- With JEI installed, every repairable item has a repair page showing its mana per second and the full cost and time from broken. Press U on any piece of gear to see it.
Forgeworks gear is never lost
- Armour and bows no longer disappear at 0 durability. They break with the usual sound and shards, but stay in your inventory at 1 durability.
- Broken armour gives no protection and a broken bow won't draw until repaired.
- Broken gear is shown with a red overlay in every inventory, and its tooltip says so.
- SoloCraft's own weapons and armour still break as before.
Heavy hits no longer shred armour
- A single hit can take at most 2% of an armour piece's maximum durability.
- Everyday fights wear armour the same as before. The difference is against bosses and higher ranks: a God-rank boss from the Dungeon Expansion used to break an S-rank chestplate in about 4 hits, and now takes at least 50.
SoloCraft: Dungeon Expansion support
- 264 of the expansion's 279 creatures now drop Forgeworks materials, alongside the expansion's own drops.
- Materials drop at the creature's own rank. Ranks above S (SS, National, God) count as S.
- Guild hunters and slime, fungus and plant creatures are deliberately left out.
- The Dungeon Expansion is optional. Forgeworks works the same without it.
Fixes
- JER showed the wrong drop chances for B, A and S-rank materials. It now matches the actual rates.
- Mana pylons now supply a multi-block station through any of its connecting parts, not only the one holding its inventory.
- Drop chances that point at a missing item are now skipped and reported in the log, instead of dropping an empty item.
Thanks
A big thank you to KirikaAetheria, who raised the problem, suggested that gear should never be truly lost, and shaped the repair station idea, and to Brandonnnnnnnnn, who backed the mana-based repair table and confirmed how hard the Dungeon Expansion's heavy hitters are on armour.
Brandon's suggestion of upgrades and gear beyond S rank is noted for a future update.
