Description
In vanilla you can skip every night the moment it gets dark, and phantoms show up whether or not that makes sense. Sleep Rework ties both to how tired you actually are. You can only sleep once you've been awake long enough, and phantoms only come for players who've stayed up for far too long.
Unofficial port of Sleep Rework by Lemonszz, for NeoForge and Fabric on 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.2 and 26.3. Please report bugs here.

How it works
- Tiredness. It goes up while you're awake. With the default settings you can sleep after about 40 minutes of play (two in-game days). Until then, the bed tells you you're not tired enough. An icon in your inventory shows how tired you are, and hovering it gives the percentage.
- Sleeping. Sleeping resets your tiredness and gives you a few seconds of Regeneration when you wake. On a server where not everyone sleeps, you're woken up rested after a short nap instead of lying in bed all night.
- Phantoms. The vanilla phantom spawner is turned off. Phantoms appear only around players who are very tired, about two hours without sleep by default. In the Overworld that's at night under open sky. In dimensions without a sky, such as the Nether and the End, it can happen any time. More of them come the more tired you are.
- Potions.
- Potion of Liveliness: brew an Awkward Potion with a honeycomb. It halves how fast you get tired.
- Potion of Drowsiness: corrupt Liveliness with a fermented spider eye. It doubles how fast you get tired.
- Both come in longer (redstone) and stronger (glowstone) versions.
- Command. Admins can check or set tiredness with
/tiredness <player> [value] [set|add], where 100 means "tired enough to sleep". - Game rule. Setting
doInsomniato false turns tiredness and phantoms off, like in vanilla.
Config
config/sleeprework.json holds every number above:
- how fast tiredness grows, when you can sleep, and when phantoms start;
- how long a nap lasts;
- the wake-up effects;
- the potion strengths and brewing ingredient;
- whether the vanilla phantom spawner stays off;
- the icon's position and colours.
