Slash Chest Shop
Turn ordinary chests into player shops with click-and-chat setup, floating item displays, and configurable currency. Sell your stock or create prepaid buy orders that keep working while you are offline.
Features
- Sell shops: stock a chest, set a price per item, and collect your earnings later.
- Buy orders: choose an item, price, and quantity. The full budget is reserved up front to pay sellers.
- Real inventory: trades move actual items between players and chests. Names, enchantments, damage, and NBT/components distinguish item variants.
- Floating displays: a product item and colored text show the shop type, unit price, and remaining stock or demand.
- Single and double chests, owner stock access, and protection against the implemented vanilla opening, breaking, replacement, explosion, and hopper routes.
- Administrative infinite shops for server-run markets.
- Ten languages: English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian.
Slash Chest Shop is independent: Slash Protection and other Slash mods are not required.
Quick start
Sell items
- Place a chest and hold the item you want to sell in your main hand.
- Right-click the chest, then enter the price per item in chat.
- As the owner, Shift + right-click to open the chest and add stock.
Create a buy order
- Shift + left-click a chest without a shop.
- Enter the item ID, such as
minecraft:diamond. - Enter the unit price and the quantity you want to buy.
The complete budget is reserved immediately. A request for 10 diamonds at 3 emeralds each reserves 30 emeralds. Sellers receive payment from that budget, including while the owner is offline. Modern versions also accept hand at the item prompt to select your held item's exact variant.
Trade: right-click a shop, read its offer, and enter a positive quantity in chat. Stay within 6 blocks, in the same dimension. Dialogue replies are consumed by the mod instead of being sent as public chat. Use /chestshop answer <reply> when another chat system requires a command-based reply.

Currency and configuration
Configuration is stored in config/slash-chest-shop.properties.
Item currency works without an economy plugin. Emeralds are the default; you can choose another registered item. Item prices must be positive whole numbers. Payments use the player's 36 main inventory slots. Leave room for purchases and collected earnings.
Vault is optional. It requires a compatible hybrid server with Bukkit, the Vault plugin, and an active economy provider. A plain Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge server does not supply Vault. Live Vault/hybrid integration has not yet been validated.
Other economy mods can integrate through the included EconomyProvider API. This requires an adapter; support is not automatic. Bukkit/LuckPerms permission APIs are consulted when available, alongside configurable local permissions. Contextual permission setups still need server-specific testing.
For English server defaults, set language.default=en_us and display.language=en_us. The shipped defaults are Brazilian Portuguese.
Installation
Install one JAR matching the exact Minecraft version and loader in the server's mods folder. Fabric API is not required.
The mod is designed for server-side installation without a mandatory client copy. Displays and messages use vanilla entities and text. Other mods in your pack may still require client installation; connected-client behavior and display appearance still need gameplay validation.

These are separate downloads for 16 selected releases. Intermediate patches and other loader/version combinations are not implied.
Validation and data
Version 1.0.0 is the initial release. All 43 artifacts have build and JAR inspection evidence. The shared core has 79 automated checks; dedicated-server checks are recorded for 1.12.2 Forge and the three 26.3 loaders. These checks do not replace connected-player gameplay testing.
Client visuals, real multiplayer/reconnect, live Vault, contextual permissions, modpack automation, and sustained-load testing remain open. Mods that write directly to chunks, NBT, or inventories, and remote inventory screens, may need dedicated integration.
Shop data is stored under <world>/slash-chest-shop/. Back up your world before installation or upgrades. A transaction journal blocks further trades when a transaction's outcome is uncertain; administrators must reconcile it before acknowledging recovery. This is not automatic rollback of an external economy. The default synchronous world/player saves favor persistence and can add disk cost per trade.
