This mod is used to create backups. You can define how many backups should be saved. You can also define how much storage should be used max. The oldest backup files will be deleted.
This mod can be used on server only.
Does the timer tick whenever the server is running or only when player is online? If so will you consider adding an option for ticks when player is online?
In reply to gw_mc:
Backups are only being made when players are online. There is one exception: The last player leaves. There will be one more backup after the set time. Otherwise, it only does a backup whenever a player is online. It checks the difference between now and the last time a backup was made. If that's more than defined value in config, a backup is being made. Because of that, backups are often made when a player logs back in after a few hours on the empty server.
Is there a way to force a backup?
nvm, saw your previous comment. worked! Thanks :)
Tip: possibly include the command here in the description or as a comment in the config file so it'd be easier to find. My /help list is kind of cluttered and that command was buried under the smorgasbord of information bombarded at me after typing /help lol

Good idea, thank you :)
Is it normal that I only get this message in the chat?
Backup completed in %s (%s | %s)
In reply to I_D4N73_I:
No, that isn’t normal. Is the mod on a server? Or do you use it in singleplayer? If on server, do you have it installed, too? Are other mods included? It’s weird, no one else had this problem before. I hope I can find the cause :)
In reply to MelanX:
i do have the same problem on a multiplayer server, and I don't have it locally. I'm using a "lot" of other mods though...
In reply to KyneSilverhide:
Thank you for that information! I will try to reproduce that soon.

hi, where can i find the backup?
hi, where can i find the backup?
Please add a command like "/backup" to manually run a backup.
In reply to liny_fox:
Use `/simplebackups backup start`
Where I can find settings for this mod in the server file?
In reply to laurus212:
Should be `configs/simplebackups-common.toml`. If a modpack doesn't provide this config in the server files, it will be generated on first start, then you can edit it.
Hello, I want to use this mod as a failsafe for my apexhosting server. Will this work clientside to save a backup of my server world, and does that also extend with whatever mods and any other files, or is it just the world? And would it work with it client side, so it'll save the files to my computer directly and not on apex hostings?
In reply to noctrinee:
This mod only saves the complete world with all its data, inventories, advancement progress, Server configs and everything else. This mod does not send any data to the client when playing on a server. If you use this mod client side, it’ll only work in singleplayer. There is no way to download the backups with this mod and, as said before, it only saves the world.
can we have this for single player worlds pls
In reply to khanrott:
Just use it in Singleplayer
Have you ever considered adding an alternate feature, or perhaps a different mod that introduces inventory backups?
Basically a mod that does something similar to what simple backups does, but it only saves the playerdata folder for a world, and it has a different backups folder than the full world backups, and be configured to have its own file size limit and backup intervals.
The reason I ask about this is because I've encountered a few issues over the years where mod issues can cause loss of the player inventory.

That sounds like a great idea, thank you! I will look at that as soon as I have enough time.
