đ About Season System
Season System adds a complete seasonal cycle to Minecraft. Your world changes over time with Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, each bringing its own atmosphere, weather behavior and gameplay effects.
The mod is designed to feel natural in survival worlds while staying configurable, performance-friendly and expandable for modpacks and other Fabric mods.
Seasons can affect the world visually and mechanically: leaves change color in autumn, snow falls in winter, ice can form and melt, crops can react to seasons, daily weather events can appear, and players can experience mild temperature effects.

Season Cycle
By default, each season lasts 28 Minecraft days. The world starts in Year 1, Spring Day 1 and then cycles through all four seasons.
- đ¸ Spring – mild weather, fresh ambience, more rain, natural regrowth and Bloom Days
- âī¸ Summer – warmer temperatures, dry weather, Heat Waves and Dry Days
- đ Autumn – cooler weather, colorful leaves, falling leaf ambience, Windy Days and Harvest Days
- âī¸ Winter – snowfall, freezing water, cold temperatures, Snowstorms and Frost Nights
đ Autumn Leaves and Seasonal Atmosphere
Autumn brings a much stronger visual identity to forests. Leaves can shift into different warm seasonal tones, creating a more natural autumn look across forest biomes.
- Oak leaves can gain warm orange and bronze tones
- Dark Oak leaves can become darker and more autumn-like
- Birch leaves can turn yellow and golden
- Jungle and Pale Oak leaves can also receive seasonal color variation
- Leaf coloring is optimized to avoid heavy FPS drops in forest biomes
Seasonal ambience adds extra life to the world through subtle particles and sounds. These effects are client-side and designed to be lightweight.
đ Season Journal and HUD
The season keybind opens the Season Journal, a larger in-game calendar screen that helps players understand what is currently happening in the world.
The Season Journal can show:
- Current season
- Current season day
- Remaining days until the next season
- Current year
- Current temperature
- Active weather event
- Today and tomorrow forecast
- Season notes and gameplay hints
The journal also includes a HUD settings section, allowing players to reposition the season overlay directly in-game.
- Move the season HUD up, down, left or right
- Reset the HUD position
- Toggle the HUD overlay on or off
- Responsive layout for fullscreen and windowed mode
đ Almanac
The Season Journal includes an Almanac tab. It provides a quick overview of seasonal effects, weather events and temperature behavior.
This helps players understand how the current season affects the world without needing to leave the game.

Season System includes a mild temperature system. It is designed to add atmosphere and gameplay depth without becoming too punishing.
- Winter cold can slowly affect exposed players
- Summer heat can affect players in hot biomes
- Temperature can influence crop growth when enabled
- The current temperature is shown in the Season Journal
- Temperature effects can be configured or disabled

Standing near certain warmth or light sources can help protect players from winter cold effects.
Supported warmth sources include:
- Torches
- Lanterns
- Glowstone
- Redstone Lamps
- Campfires
- Soul Campfires
- Shroomlights
- Sea Lanterns
- Jack o'Lanterns
- Froglights
- Candles
- Furnaces
- Smokers
- Blast Furnaces
Strong heat sources like campfires, fire and lava provide stronger warmth.
âī¸ Seasonal Weather Events
Each season can now have special daily weather events. These events are designed to add variety without relying on heavy world scanning or constant block updates.
- đ§ī¸ Spring Rain – rainy spring day with stronger spring atmosphere
- đ¸ Bloom Day – fresh spring ambience and better growth conditions
- đĨ Heat Wave – hot summer day with stronger heat effects
- âī¸ Dry Day – dry summer day with reduced rain and harsher crop conditions
- đŦī¸ Windy Day – autumn wind ambience and more falling leaves
- đž Harvest Day – autumn day focused on crops and harvest atmosphere
- âī¸ Snowstorm – intense winter snow ambience and colder conditions
- đ Frost Night – winter nights become much colder
Weather events can affect ambience, temperature and crop growth depending on the configuration.
đž Crop Profiles and Tooltips
Season System includes a flexible crop profile system. Modpack creators and other mod developers can define the best growing seasons for crops through a JSON configuration.
Crop and seed items can display helpful seasonal tooltip information such as:

đĨŦ Farmer's Delight Refabricated Compatibility
Season System includes optional compatibility for Farmer's Delight Refabricated.
- The integration only activates when Farmer's Delight is installed
- No hard dependency is required
- Seasonal crop profiles are added automatically
- Existing custom crop profiles are not overwritten
