Seamless Ores 1.0.0 (NeoForge)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Seamless Ores 1.0.0
First release.
Ore blocks whose background matches the stone they generate in. Granite, diorite, andesite and tuff variants for all eight overworld ores, plus gold and quartz in basalt and blackstone. 36 blocks.
It adds no ore. Rather than adding worldgen features, it extends the target lists of the ore features that already exist, so the same veins appear in the same places and only the texture changes. Veins crossing a stone boundary blend block by block with no seam. The large copper and iron veins, which come from a separate system entirely, are handled as well.
The one exception is the Nether, where basalt and blackstone gold and quartz genuinely are new ore, since vanilla only ever places them in netherrack. That is on by default and can be turned off, which restores byte identical vanilla generation.
Other things worth knowing
- Blocks are built as two layers, stone plus a transparent ore overlay, so packs that retexture stone restyle them for free and glow or outline packs keep working.
- Terralith, ore distribution datapacks and worldgen overhauls all keep their own settings.
- Tags, loot, XP, hardness and mining level are copied from the vanilla ore each variant replaces.
- Full config screen from the mods list, including per stone toggles.
Requires Cloth Config.
