Description
Faction Government
Every faction picks one trait each for Economic, Social, and Foreign policy — 15 traits total, each with a real perk and a real tradeoff, and the three picks combine into your faction's actual title (e.g. Mercantile Meritocratic Isolationists of X).
- Economic: Plutocratic, Socialist, Feudal, Mercantile, Command Economy
- Social: Tribal, Monarchy, Republic, Democracy, Meritocracy
- Foreign: Isolationist, Expansionist, Diplomatic, Belligerent, Mercenary
Republic and Democracy hold real, working elections. Clashing trait combinations raise your faction's Instability, which can trigger real consequences each cycle — pillager raids, theft, inflation, weaker production — unless you pay to crack down on corruption. Events such as a faction Leader being killed inside their own claim triggers a global announcement and a real spike in Instability.
Districts
Claim land and specialize it into one of six District types, each granting a real, distinct bonus to faction members working there:
- Field — faster crop growth, bonus harvest, bonus animal drops
- Lumber — bonus wood, extra sapling growth
- Quarry — bonus stone and ore while mining
- Fort — slows enemy sieges, fatigues attackers
- Training Field — XP boost for recruits
- Urban — taxes villagers living and working there
Every District bonus scales with your government traits and your faction's Prestige tier.
District Structures (Building Cores)
For now, every district type has a single special structure, a multiblock which offers unique production and benefits, they are made with a Redstone Block, an Observer, and a District-specific top block — to build a unique production structure in a matching District: Mill, Smeltery, Armory, Barracks, Town Hall, and Sawmill. Each one:
- Progresses through 4 real tiers (Assembled → Tier 0 → Tier 1 → Tier 2 → Tier 3), each costing real currency and taking real time to inspect
- Requires the right villager professions physically present nearby, scaling with tier
- Requires real supporting blocks in the surrounding area, checked and enforced automatically — fall short and the building demotes a tier
- Has separate Materials (hopper-fed from above) and Output (hopper-collected from below) inventories, so automation just works
- Produces real goods from supplied raw materials at a configurable discount — armor and weapon kits, arrows and bows, milled crops, smelted ore, tax revenue, and sawn lumber.
Faction Prestige
Every faction starts as a Tribe. Meet real requirements — total claimed land, total recruits, and a streak of successful upkeep payments — and pay a currency cost to rise through the ranks: Kingdom → Empire (or Realm → Great Republic/Democracy for Republics and Democracies). Higher Prestige tiers add a real, flat bonus on top of whatever your government already grants. Fail to pay upkeep, or let Instability run wild for too long, and your faction falls from glory.
Faction Heart & Upkeep
The heart of every faction's economy. Pays real, configurable upkeep on a timer from its own inventory — miss a payment and your faction slides into bankruptcy (claims become vulnerable) and eventually anarchy (everything unclaimed) if left unpaid. Every player has a personal Tax Chest; faction leaders set real tax rates collected automatically into the Heart.
Claim Manager & Auto-Naming
A dedicated item for setting a claim's District specialization and reviewing your faction's total land and specialization counts. Newly claimed land is automatically named after your faction's own initials, "MMIT County 1", so faction titles never make your claims unreadable.
In-Game Guidebook
A full in-game reference book covering every system above, so new players and admins alike always have an answer close at hand. Every system is covered in depth, anything not covered is visible in the GUI's.
Dependencies
Rexcruits is an addon and requires the following mods to function:
- Villager Recruits by talhanation — the recruit and faction system Rexcruits builds on top of
- Ranks and Titles by knightmare — faction rank and title management
Rexcruits also has optional integrations that unlock extra features if installed, but are not required:
- Vassal & Suzerain — enables the Diplomatic government trait's real tribute auto-binding between vassal and suzerain factions
- Workers by talhanation — required specifically for the Mill, Smeltery, Town Hall, and Sawmill District Structures, which rely on Workers' Farmer, Miner, and Lumberjack professions
