Retro Locator Almanac
/locate for the modded 1.12.2 world. Vanilla's /locate only knows vanilla's structures. Retro Locator Almanac teaches it the structures of other mods, and brings back what later versions added: /locate biome and /locate poi.
What it does
- Finds modded structures with
/locate: Twilight Forest labyrinths, Ice and Fire dragon caves, Chocolate Quest castles, Advent of Ascension temples and many more. Vanilla structures keep working as before. - Even where nobody has been yet. For many mods it works the positions out from the world seed, by replaying the mod's own placement rules, so you can find a structure before its chunks exist.
- Tells you how sure it is. Every position worked out from the seed has a reliability tier from extensive testing: exact, high, medium, low, very low or unknown. Results that haven't generated yet are marked as such, in each player's own language.
- Records everything else as it generates, so structures of mods without dedicated support can be found once they exist.
/locate biome <biome>: from the seed, modded biomes and dimensions included, unexplored areas too./locate poi: the nearest nether portal, spawner (by mob), unopened loot chest (by loot table; with Lootr, unopened by you), and with Future MC bee nests and beehives.- Server only: clients don't need it (install it on the client for single player).
Supported mods
Found in unexplored areas too:
- Exact: vanilla, the Twilight Forest, the Aether, Atum 2, AbyssalCraft, YUNG's Better Mineshafts and other MapGen structures; Lycanites Mobs dungeons; Chocolate Quest Repoured; pieces mods add to villages (e.g. Waystones); Doomlike Dungeons; the Aurorian's dungeons
- Predicted: Ice and Fire (1.9.1 and the RLCraft edition), Quark, Mowzie's Mobs, Tinkers' Construct islands, Roguelike Dungeons (and Fnar's edition), Electroblob's Wizardry, Advent of Ascension in all its dimensions
Found once generated (also from before installing, where the mod keeps a record): Recurrent Complex, Battle Towers, Astral Sorcery, the Erebus, Vampirism, Thaumcraft, Defiled Lands, NetherEx, Lands of Icaria, the Betweenlands, Ruins and others.
Biomes are known for vanilla, Biomes O' Plenty, the Twilight Forest, the Betweenlands, Atum, the Aether, AbyssalCraft, BetterNether, BetterEnd Forge Backport, Thaumcraft, Traverse, NetherEx, the Erebus, Defiled Lands, Vampirism, the Midnight, Advent of Ascension, Tropicraft, Lands of Icaria, the Aurorian and Stygian End.
Search modes
By default, positions rated exact, high or medium are handed out directly, while low, very low and unknown ones are only found where they already generated, so no search ever generates chunks. Server owners can change that per tier, including confirming predictions by generating the chunks they're decided in before pointing anyone there, and can let players choose for each search (/locate structure <name> predict|confirm|generated).
Commands
/locate <structure>
/locate structure <structure> [default|predict|confirm|generated]
/locate biome <biome>
/locate poi nether_portal | spawner [mob] | loot_chest [loot table] | bee_nest | beehive
/retrolocate structure list [filter] [dimension]
/retrolocate biome list [filter] [dimension]
Names can be a full id (twilightforest:landscape/druid_hut/druid_doubledeck), any end of its path (druid_doubledeck), or a pattern with * (druid_hut*). Tab completion lists every structure id known in your dimension.

For developers
RetroLocaterAPI lets other mods register their structures, record them, and locate structures and biomes the same way /locate does.
