What's new
Resource Multiplier 1.2.0 - First Release
🎉 Welcome to the first public release candidate of Resource Multiplier!
Resource Multiplier helps reduce repetitive resource grinding by safely multiplying block drops, mob loot, and supported shearing output while preserving Minecraft's normal loot mechanics.
✨ Main Features
- Configurable resource multipliers from 0x through 64x
- Global, category, dimension, and individual block multipliers
- Persistent anti-duplication protection for player-placed blocks
- Support for piston movement, falling blocks, doors, beds, and other multi-block placements
- Optional mob and animal death-loot multiplication
- Optional manual and dispenser shearing multiplication
- Separate block, entity, boss, XP, automation, and filter settings
- In-game configuration through
/smartdropsgui - Optional Mod Menu integration
- Diagnostic inspection and configuration-validation commands
✂️ Shearing Support
Supported entity shearing can now use resource multipliers.
- Manual player shearing is enabled by default on fresh configurations
- Automated dispenser shearing is disabled by default
- The entity is sheared only once
- The tool is damaged only once
- Unknown modded shearables remain at vanilla 1x until deliberately marked as compatible
- Special transformation-based shearables remain protected at vanilla 1x
🐄 Optional Mob Loot
Mob death-loot multiplication is available but remains disabled by default.
When enabled, Resource Multiplier safely multiplies normal loot-table output while leaving equipment, inventories, picked-up items, player drops, and unsupported special rewards unchanged.
Boss loot and boss XP also remain protected unless a server owner explicitly enables them.
🛡️ Safety Improvements
- Player-placed blocks remain at vanilla quantity in the default Natural Blocks Only mode
- Block entities and inventory-bearing blocks remain protected by default
- Technical, portal, spawner, and unique blocks are excluded by default
- Large or unusual loot results are limited by built-in output safety protections
- If multiplied output would exceed a safety limit, the complete event falls back to its original vanilla result
- Fortune, Silk Touch, Looting, item components, NBT, and legal stack sizes are preserved
⚙️ Configuration Improvements
- Redesigned configuration menu with separate sections for blocks, entities, filters, dimensions, advanced settings, and shearing
- Renamed the main menu buttons to Block Categories and Block Filters for clarity
- Added clearer hover tooltips throughout the configuration screens
- Added search-first block and entity override menus
- Added shared unsaved-change tracking across configuration screens
- Added a protected Reset All Settings option with confirmation
🔍 Diagnostic Commands
/smartdrops inspect— Inspect the block you are looking at/smartdrops inspect entity— Inspect the entity you are looking at/smartdrops validate— Check the current server configuration for missing IDs, tags, conflicts, or risky settings
These diagnostic commands are read-only and do not modify blocks, entities, loot, or configuration.
🔄 Name Change
Smart Resource Drops has been renamed to Resource Multiplier.
This is a public branding change only. Existing worlds, configuration files, commands, datapacks, and player-placement records remain compatible. You do not need to rename or delete your existing configuration.

⚠️ Release Candidate Notice
This is a release candidate. The automated client, server, configuration, migration, packaging, and gameplay test suites pass, but additional hands-on and third-party mod compatibility testing is still in progress.
Backing up important worlds and configurations before testing prerelease mods is always recommended.
Please report bugs or compatibility problems through the Resource Multiplier GitHub issue tracker.
