
Resource Melons
Resource Melons adds several new melons to the game. They can be grown and eaten to get resources!
Seeds can be crafted using regular melon seeds and a decent amount of their respective material. Once you have some melons, more seeds can potentially be crafted from a whole melon block or rarely obtained as a byproduct of eating.
Resource Melons are temperamental and slow-growing plants, and require several conditions to grow. They refuse to grow in direct line of sight to the sky, and they need a block of their respective resource underneath their farmland to serve as a 'catalyst'. Perhaps, using this knowledge, you could figure out some ways to speed them up?
Once grown, melons require an axe to harvest. Axes of different harvest levels may be required, similarly to mining a resource block with a pickaxe. This means you will need a Diamond Axe or better to harvest Netherite Melons!
Dispensers also seem to enjoy the taste of melons, so perhaps a smart cookie could come up with some form of automated contraption to eat melon?
Melons currently include Coal, Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis, Diamond, Emerald, Quartz, Glowstone, Copper, Amethyst, and Netherite.
The mod is highly configurable; each limitation of melon growth, as well as the many factors that can speed it up or slow it down, can be altered, dispenser functionality can be altered or disabled outright, melon food values can be changed, and more.

This mod is exclusive to Fabric. It will not be ported to Forge no matter how much you ask! At least, not by me. Feel free to port it yourself though!
