Raid Wormhole turns Cobblemon Raid Dens into wormholes: glowing portals, in the style of the Ultra Wormholes of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, open near players, and walking into one starts a raid. The raid crystals no longer generate. Nothing else of Raid Dens changes: bosses, keys, rewards, parties and arenas are the ones of Raid Dens.
You need Cobblemon, Cobblemon Raid Dens, and the Fabric API on Fabric. The mod is made from one code base for Fabric and NeoForge, so both do the same thing, and the two jars are compared by a check before every release.
What it does
- Natural portals. Every so often a portal opens near a player, on the ground or in the air. By default that is roughly one portal every hour or two of play for each player, and the delay and the chance are yours to set.
- Walk in or right click. Getting close to a portal takes you into the raid, a right click does the same, and a left click removes it. Walking in and removing a portal can each be turned off in the config.
- Color, size and facing. The color follows the type of the boss, the portal grows with the tier of the raid, and it opens facing the player it was opened for, in any direction, up and down included.
- An exit inside the raid. The home crystal of the arena is replaced by an exit portal. Right click it to leave the raid.
- Tiers 1 to 7. Each dimension has its own tiers, so the Nether can have harder raids than the overworld, and a dimension from another mod gets its own settings the first time a world starts.
- Raid Den Designs. When the Raid Den Designs datapack is there, the bosses this mod builds itself fight in the arena of their type.
Open your own portals
Operators have a command.
/raidportals spawn <pokemon|random> <tier|random> <color|auto> <attributes...> opens a portal in front of you. Any Pokemon works, legendaries included, tiers 1 to 7, a color can be a type, a palette name or a hex color, and the attributes are the ones of /pokespawn (level=90 shiny=true).
/raidportals spawn natural opens a natural portal near you right now.
/raidportals list natural shows, for every dimension, the tiers that can appear on their own.
/raidportals clear removes every portal.
Items work too. In the config, trigger_items links an item to a portal: right click it and the portal opens, the item is used up (not in creative).
Legendary and Ultra Beast portals
Legendary, mythical, Ultra Beast and paradox Pokemon never come out of a normal random draw. Two doors lead to them:
- Myths and Legends. If that mod is installed, its key items (the Tidal Bell, the Eon Ticket, the Reveal Glass and the others) open a tier 7 raid of the legendary linked to the item, anywhere. The chat says "A Legendary wormhole appeared", the item is used up, and the portal stays open for 30 minutes. Everything is read from its data, so it is not needed, and nothing happens without it.
- Ultra Beasts. A natural portal can be an Ultra Beast one, but only in the places the config lists, from tier 6, with a very small chance. By default that is the End (1 in a million), the deep dark and the Otherside of Deeper and Darker (1 in 100 000), on top of the chance that a portal opens and that its tier is high enough.
Two lists in the config, allowed_pokemon and disabled_pokemon, say which Pokemon may come out of a random draw. If a Pokemon is in both, it stays disabled.
Who can use a portal
A natural portal is for everybody. A portal opened with a command or an item belongs to the player it was opened for. By default the people that player set in FTB Teams (members and allies, FTB Chunks included), Open Parties and Claims (party members and allied parties) and Flan (when the portal stands in their claim) can use it too, and operators always can. The config also has everyone and owner.
Settings
Everything is in config/raidportals-common.toml, written the first time the game starts, with a comment on every line.
- Natural portals: how often, how likely, the distances, the delay between two portals for a player, how many at the same time near a player and in a whole dimension, how often they open in the air, the tiers and the bosses.
- Per dimension: every dimension of the game, mods included, gets its own
[dimension."mod:name"] section the first time a world starts. Take the # off a line to change it for that dimension only. The overworld, the Nether, the End, the Aether, the Twilight Forest, the Otherside of Deeper and Darker and the planets of Ad Astra come with their own tiers. Any other dimension is off until you write enabled = true.
- Per biome: a
[biome."mod:name"] section gives a biome its own tiers.
- Portals: how long a portal stays, who may remove it, the walk-in distance.
- Access, Myths and Legends, Ultra Beasts, Pokemon lists.
Portals cannot be opened inside the raid dimension unless you allow it.
Compatibilities
None of them is needed. Each one is only used when it is installed.
- Cobblemon Raid Dens, Raid Den Designs: The raids and the arenas, with the arena of the type for the bosses this mod builds
- Jade: The tooltip of a portal shows the boss and its tier like a crystal does
- Xaero's Minimap: A radar icon per color and per tier
- Myths and Legends: Key items open legendary raids
- FTB Teams, FTB Chunks, Open Parties and Claims, Flan: Who can use a portal opened on purpose
- Ad Astra, the Aether, the Twilight Forest, Deeper and Darker: Tiers and settings for their dimensions
This is the support the mod was written for. Not every one has been played through in every combination yet: the Compatibility page of the wiki says what is verified and what is not.
Origin of the idea
Raid Dens is built around raid crystals placed in the world. The idea of this mod was to replace them with portals that appear around the players, like the Ultra Wormholes of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, so that raids come to the players.
