Pocket Balance

Compare your own inventory before and after a session to see net item gains and losses.

Pocket Balance

See what a mining, building or crafting session added to—or removed from—your own inventory. Pocket Balance compares an inventory summary you save with what you carry now. It never transfers or recreates items.

Commands

  • /pocketbalance start saves your baseline. It refuses to replace an active session.
  • /pocketbalance report [page] shows net gains and losses, ordered by quantity, with stack equivalents. Ten changes per page.
  • /pocketbalance finish shows the first page and removes your baseline. Use the report pages first if you need every change.
  • /pocketbalance cancel discards your baseline without changing any items.
  • /pocketbalance help explains the scope in game.

A baseline survives logout, death and server restarts. Only the player running the command can see their report; there is no command for inspecting someone else's inventory. No operator permission is needed.

What is counted?

The 36 normal inventory slots, four armor slots and offhand. Slot rearrangement and splitting stacks do not create false gains. Counts are grouped by item registry ID: durability, names, enchantments and other components are deliberately not separate categories. Stack equivalents use the item's default maximum stack size, not component-altered capacity.

Ender chests, open containers, the cursor stack, crafting grids, accessory slots, and items nested inside shulker boxes or other storage are excluded. The storage item itself counts once. Reports show net inventory change, not mining yield or proof of where an item came from or went. Death can appear as a loss; recovering dropped items can reverse that loss.

Installation and limits

Install on the server, or locally for singleplayer. Other players do not need this mod installed on their client. Use the file matching the exact game and loader:

  • Minecraft 1.20.1: Forge
  • Minecraft 1.21.1: NeoForge
  • Minecraft 26.3: NeoForge

One active baseline per player, at most 4,096 active baselines per world, and a half-second command cooldown. No background inventory polling, external services, or tracking messages to other players. Server administrators can access world files; this is not encryption against the server owner.

New beta release; bugs may remain. All three release artifacts passed core accounting tests and installed-server checks, including a real restart. See each file's changelog for validation details. No graphical client testing is claimed.
