Ore Shimmer

A quiet glint in the dark.

Give ore veins a soft shimmer and small, colour-matched sparkles — while the rest of the cave stays dark.

What it adds

• Soft vein shimmer that keeps each ore’s colour.
• Small surface sparkles that appear at different points on the vein.
• Separate controls for shimmer strength, shimmer frequency, sparkle strength and sparkle frequency.
• Vanilla and modded ore support using ore tags and block names.
• Your active textures are used to create the effect.

Your caves, your settings

Keep the glow faint or turn it up. Open Ore Shimmer settings from the pause menu, or use Mods → Ore Shimmer → Config. The preview helps you choose your look. Settings are saved locally and remain yours to change.

Adjust shimmer strength, shimmer frequency, sparkle strength and sparkle frequency independently. Use Reset to restore the default preset, Cancel to leave your saved settings unchanged, or Apply to save your changes. The screenshot shows a custom preset.

Simple to add

For Minecraft Java 1.20.1 with Forge. Install it on your client; the server does not need it. No shader or resource pack is required. Ore Shimmer does not change spawning, block light levels or world generation.

These screenshots were taken in Gears Beyond the Horizon with Photon and Faithful 32x. Those are separate downloads and are not included in Ore Shimmer. The final appearance depends on your shader and resource pack.
