Old Animations Mod

Abandoned
Brings back 1.7 gameplay feeling to 1.8 in terms of client side animations! Completely client side to not cause issues with ANY anti cheats!

Here it is boiiis!

FEATURES

It contains the 1.7 blockhitting animation, the armor turning red upon hit (even improved my last version here) and hearts you lost do not flash up anymore. Also the same scaling for rods as in 1.7! Also Bow / Potion / ... punching! Also 1.7 sword position in 3rd person when blocking and the old enchantment glint!

Do /anconfig or /animations to open the config and disable certain features!

COMPATIBILITY (Forge 1.8.9)
Compatibility with pretty much most mods (including Optifine, 5zig and others) should be provided and should not cause any issues. However, this will only work on Forge 1.8.9. If you have any issues with a certain mod, please tell me. Please test if issues occur even without this mod.

If you use 5zig you have to install both as a normal mod (see: How to install) and do not use the installer.

COMPATIBILITY (Shaders)

Optifine 1.8.9 allows the use of shaders, however any Optifine version before H7 is broken and does not properly integrate the features Forge provides to make my mod work. Download and use Optifine 1.8.9 HD U H7 or newer for compatibility with Shaders.

Note that the armor animation might be broken by custom shaders. The internal shaders should not be affected by this, though.

HOW TO INSTALL
Install Forge. Download the file.
Put the file in the "mods" folder of your Minecraft folder where you have Forge installed.
Done.

Note for Optifine / 5zig / ... users: Install the Animations Mod and Optifine or whatever you want to run with it as a normal Forge mod - DO NOT USE THE INSTALLER. Just drop all files into the mods folder of your Forge profile and run it!
