Ofon's Enderdragon Age

Ofon’s Enderdragon Age is an expansion centered around raising a Baby Ender Dragon into a permanent bonded Enderdrake companion.

Rather than simply adding a rideable dragon, the mod builds an entire progression and utility system around owning one. A bonded Enderdrake can become a long-distance mount, exploration companion, emergency rescue system, mobile resource consumer, and one of the fastest ways to travel through a large survival world.

The Enderdrake uses a custom adult model with dedicated grounded, following, flying, gliding, swimming, falling, riding, and wing animations.

Flight is fully controllable rather than relying on basic vanilla flying AI. Normal mounted flight is tuned around 20 blocks per second, with faster sprint flight, vertical movement, controlled landing behavior, and persistent rider-adjustable speed settings.

Flight Energy limits how long the Enderdrake can remain airborne. Food stored in the Dragon Guard can automatically replenish that energy during travel, allowing long trips without turning flight into completely free transportation.

Dragonsurge provides a charge-based movement system for rapid bursts of speed. It works both on the ground and in the air, can store multiple charges, and uses Flight Energy based on the actual distance traveled. Riders can also adjust Dragonsurge power through the Enderdrake’s riding settings.

The Acrobatics system adds charged vertical launches and airborne burst movement. Ground launches can be charged before takeoff, while airborne charges can be used for rapid vertical repositioning and movement during flight.

Taxi navigation allows the rider to send the bonded Enderdrake toward a chosen destination and let the dragon handle the trip automatically. It is designed for long-distance travel without requiring constant manual steering. As the Enderdrake approaches its destination, it searches for a suitable landing area instead of blindly dropping the rider onto dangerous terrain. If no safe landing position can be found, the dragon can refuse the landing rather than forcing an unsafe touchdown.

The Dragon Guard acts as the Enderdrake’s equipment and utility system. It supports multiple upgrade tiers and provides storage for food and other dragon systems while also serving as the central interface for riding-related settings and utilities.

A bonded Enderdrake can carry its owner and one additional passenger, allowing two players to travel together on the same dragon.

An integrated parachute system protects riders and passengers who dismount or are ejected while airborne. Parachutes deploy automatically when needed and are consumed from the Dragon Guard’s dedicated supply, giving players a second layer of protection during high-altitude travel.

The Dragon Horn provides same-dimension recall and rescue functionality. It can call the bonded Enderdrake back to its owner and includes emergency behavior intended to help when the owner is falling or otherwise needs the dragon nearby.

The upgraded Enderdragon Horn extends recall across dimensions, allowing a bonded Enderdrake to return to its owner even when they are no longer in the same dimension.

Long-distance recall and Dimensional Mending use animated dimensional portals rather than simply teleporting the dragon. The Enderdrake visibly enters the gateway when leaving and progressively emerges through it again when returning.

Dimensional Mending provides an emergency survival mechanic for critically wounded bonded Enderdrakes. When eligible, the Enderdrake can retreat into dimensional recovery instead of remaining exposed in the world. It heals while absent and can later return to its bonded owner once enough health has been restored.

Mounted owners are not automatically forced into Dimensional Mending simply because their Enderdrake becomes critically wounded. As long as the bonded owner remains mounted, the rider can decide whether to continue flying. Once the owner dismounts, the Enderdrake can begin its retreat if it is still below the Mending threshold.

The Enderdrake also includes safe landing logic, persistent Flight Energy, configurable Flight Speed, configurable Dragonsurge Power, rider opacity controls, custom HUD elements, Dragon Guard inventory management, rescue behavior, persistent rider preferences, and numerous safeguards intended to make the dragon practical on a long-running survival server.

The mod has been designed with survival balance in mind. Powerful movement and utility systems are paired with Flight Energy costs, food consumption, charge management, equipment progression, and safety rules so that the Enderdrake feels powerful without completely removing travel and resource considerations.

Ofon’s Enderdragon Age is currently being distributed as an unlisted beta while it undergoes continued private-server testing.

The core gameplay systems are functional and actively used in survival, but additional animation polish, visual refinement, multiplayer testing, compatibility work, and edge-case fixes will continue over time.
