🔭THE OBSERVATORY LOG🔭 v0.9.3 — AUGUST 6, 2026 — DAWN SHIFT

"The telescope no longer mutters to itself."

"And the stars you drew... they were never meant to survive the sunrise."

📖 OBSERVATORY KEEPER'S LOGBOOK

🗓️ Entry 1 — 03:42 AM | Equipment Maintenance

Condition: Clear skies. Excessive noise in the logbooks.

The console has been screaming DEBUG messages for three shifts straight. Every time a player glances at the sky, the machinery shouts: "RENDER STATE UPDATED." Every time the night rolls its dice for a new sky variant, it yells: "RANDOM SELECTION COMPLETE." Every time a star is aimed at, it chatters: "AIM DETECTED. LOGGING. LOGGING. LOGGING."

Enough. The telescope has been wiped clean. The logbooks have been stripped of their gossip.

The observatory now operates in silence. The stars still shine. The achievements still trigger. But the machinery no longer narrates its own existence.

🔧 Actions Taken:

System 🔊 Before 🤫 After
SkyboxRenderer 3× DEBUG spam (render state, nightly random, dawn fallback) Silent. LOGGER removed.
ConstellationSkyContent logAimed throttle + DEBUG per star Silent. Logic inlined. Achievement trigger intact.
SkyboxDataReloadListener INFO shout on every datapack reload Silent.

The sky still remembers you. It just stopped telling everyone about it.

🗓️ Entry 2 — 05:17 AM | Dawn Event Observed

Condition: First light. Night factor dropping below 0.5.

I watched it happen. The moment the sun cracked the horizon, the entire night's archive caught fire.

Every linked star that players had drawn across the firmament — those personal constellations, those private geometries of light — they dissolved. Not with a crash. Not with an error. With a whisper. Like frost on glass when the stove wakes up.

The telescope's memory wiped itself too. All those carefully accumulated aim-states, those slow zooms into stellar hearts — reset to zero. The lens forgot the stars it had loved.

A single message hung in the air, just once, before the day took over:

"Dawn has broken. The stars you painted last night have scattered on the wind..."

🌅 The Dawn Protocol:

What the Night Gave What the Dawn Takes Back
🌠 Player-drawn linked stars PlayerSkyLinkData.clearAll() — entire canvas erased
🔭 Telescope aim progress aimState[]0.0F for every star
💾 Transparency caches Reset to default
📝 The daily reminder Fires once per dawn, then sleeps until next dusk

🔄 Safety Mechanisms:

  • Dusk reset: The "already warned" flag clears at sunset, ready for tomorrow's dawn.
  • 🌐 Dimension-hop safe: Crossing dimensions resets the day/night edge detector — no false burnings.

📋 NIGHT SHIFT SUMMARY

+ 🌅 Dawn Protocol: All player sky-links auto-clear at sunrise
+ 🔭 Telescope aim states auto-reset at sunrise
+ 💬 One-time dawn message: "The stars you painted... scattered on the wind"
+ 🤫 Observatory silent running: All skybox DEBUG/INFO logs purged
+ 🎯 Stargazer achievement logic preserved (inlined, not deleted)

- 🔊 SkyboxRenderer DEBUG logs (render state, random, fallback)
- 🔊 ConstellationSkyContent logAimed DEBUG spam
- 🔊 SkyboxDataReloadListener INFO log on reload
- 🌠 Sky-link persistence across day/night boundary (by design)

🔭 THE OBSERVATORY IS QUIET NOW. THE DAWN DOES ITS JOB WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION. 🔭
