Must Have More Bricks
Real bricks and building stones from all around the world.
Vanilla Minecraft gives you plain bricks and some fantasy stone. Real towns and cities are built from far more: honey-gold Cotswold stone, sooty London stock bricks, shiny Staffordshire blues, gleaming Carrara marble, turquoise Persian tiles and more. Must Have More Bricks brings 27 real-world building materials into the game, each named after the place it comes from.
✨ Features
- 27 real-world materials: 13 clay bricks and 14 building stones from 14 countries
- 324 new blocks: every material comes in 3 patterns, and every pattern as a block, stairs, slab and wall
- The Mason's Bench: one workstation that cuts any block into all of its patterns and shapes
- Realistic brick-making: mix clay with an additive, fire it, then build with it
- Every block tells you where it's from: hover over any item to see its origin, e.g. From: Isfahan, Iran
- All vanilla ingredients: no new ores to hunt and no new world generation

🔥 How to Make Bricks
Real bricks get their colour from what's mixed into the clay and how hot they're fired. This mod works the same way:
- Mix: clay ball + additive = Raw Brick (or a clay block + additive = 4 Raw Bricks)
- Fire: smelt the raw brick in a Furnace or Blast Furnace
- Build: 4 bricks in a 2×2 square = 1 Brick Block
| Raw Brick | Additive | Fires into |
|---|---|---|
| Iron-Rich | Iron Nugget | Furnace: Red Engineering / Blast Furnace: Staffordshire Blue |
| London Stock | Sand + Charcoal | Furnace |
| Suffolk White | Bone Meal | Furnace |
| Tudor Handmade | Red Sand + Charcoal | Furnace |
| Dutch Klinker | Coal | Blast Furnace |
| Danish Yellow | Sand | Furnace |
| Chicago Common | Brown Dye | Furnace |
| Chinese Grey | Gravel | Furnace |
| Roman | Red Sand | Furnace |
| Glazed White | Glass Pane | Furnace |
| Persian Turquoise | Glass Pane + Cyan Dye | Furnace |
Adobe is sun-dried, so it needs no firing: Mud + Sand + Wheat = 4 Adobe Bricks.
🪨 How to Make Stones

🛠️ The Mason's Bench
Recipe: 1 Iron Ingot (top middle), 3 Brick Blocks (middle row), 3 Planks (bottom row)
The Mason's Bench works just like a Stonecutter. Put in any block from this mod and pick any pattern or shape of the same material: blocks, stairs, slabs (2 per block) and walls. It's quick, there are no recipe lists to remember, and nothing is wasted.
❓ FAQ
Does it add new ores or world generation? No. Everything is made from vanilla items, so it's safe to add to an existing world.
Can I use it in a modpack? Yes, feel free!
Will more materials be added? Yes! The plan is to keep adding real building materials from around the world. Suggestions are very welcome in the comments.
