Description

Vanilla trees, but the world finally has a forest worth walking through.
- 145+ new trees in every overworld biome, built from vanilla blocks only.
- Real-world species: mangroves on stilts, baobabs, banyans, redwoods, bonsai pines.
- Giants you can see from far away, up to 125 blocks tall.
- One tree above all: the World Tree, with a secret village in its crown.
- Your vanilla trees stay. We only add.

What it adds

145+ new tree shapes, placed in every overworld biome. Plains, meadows, beaches and rivers get real trees too, not just bushes.
Every tree belongs to a size class, so you always know what you are looking at:
| Class | Height | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Bush | 1-4 | Stumps, thickets, fallen logs |
| Small | 4-10 | Bonsai, whips, snags, orchard trees |
| Standard | 8-18 | The new normal in each forest |
| Tall | 14-30 | Stands of tall, odd, leaning trees |
| Mega | 18-48 | Ringed trunks, hollow giants, big old trees |
| Grand | 50-75 | Very rare giants |
| Legendary | 90-125 | Extremely rare giants that shape the skyline |
Look for twin trunks, leaning trunks, hollow trunks, weeping crowns, umbrella crowns, fallen logs and dead snags. Vanilla forests stay vanilla, with more to find in them.
Real-world trees

Not just bigger oaks. We studied real trees and built them block by block.
- Mangroves on stilt roots, with arching prop roots, mud pegs and knee-root cathedrals in mangrove swamps and on shores.
- Baobabs, fat bottle trunks in the savanna, and banyans that drop pillar roots from a flat canopy.
- Kapok giants with huge buttress walls, and strangler figs with a hollow braided trunk in the jungle.
- Redwoods and sequoias, bare red towers with tiny crowns, in the taiga and groves.
- Bald cypress with knees in the water, weeping willows by the river, Italian cypress rows in the plains.
- Umbrella pines, monkey puzzle trees and cedars of Lebanon in hills and meadows.
- Joshua trees, quiver trees, dragon blood trees and oasis palms in deserts and badlands.
- Niwaki bonsai pines and wisteria arbors in cherry groves.
- Aspen groves that grow as one big clone in birch forests and meadows.
The giant ladder

Rarity climbs with size. Grand giants (50-75 blocks) show up a few times per 1,000 blocks in their biome. Legendary giants (90-125 blocks) are rarer still, and you can spot them from far away.
- Parasol colossus: a 125-block acacia that spreads like an umbrella over the savanna.
- Emergent colossus: a 125-block jungle giant above the canopy.
- Redwood spire: 112 blocks of bare trunk in the taiga.
- White needle birch: a 102-block pale birch tower.
- Taiga spire: a 102-block spruce.
- Sakura cloud: a 93-block cherry with a crown like a pink cloud.
- Sherman sequoia: a 77-block red giant.
Plus fallen giant logs you can walk along, wide angel oaks with limbs that rest on the ground, a lonely giant oak in the plains, and mangrove stilt titans.
The World Tree

One tree above them all. The World Tree is over 200 blocks tall, with a wide, buttressed foot and a round green crown you can see from very far away. It is the tallest thing the mod adds, and the only tree with a place to visit inside.
It is extremely rare. Expect to travel a few thousand blocks from spawn before you find one, and some worlds take longer. It only grows in old, big forests: forests, flower forests, birch and dark forests, old growth taigas and jungles. Look for one tall shape on the horizon, then walk towards it. We give no coordinates: finding it is the adventure.
Finding it also unlocks an advancement, World Tree.
The climb

There is a door at the foot of the trunk. Inside, a spiral stair is cut into the wood and climbs up to the village hanging in the crown.
You can also reach it from the outside: two stair towers wind up the limbs, and a ring of rope bridges with fences and lanterns joins the treehouses to the plaza. Take your time. It is a long way up, and the view is worth it.
The village in the crown

Up there hangs a secret village: a round plaza with a bell, eight treehouses on thick limbs (a library, a forge, an apothecary, a farm and more), a lookout and a garden, all joined by lantern-lit walkways under a dome of leaves.
Real life goes on here: 12 villagers, two of them children, 3 cats, 4 parrots, 2 allays and an iron golem that keeps watch. Every house has a bed and a workstation, and every house has a secret.
There are four chests with rare treasure, hidden around the village.
The Keeper

At the very top lives the Keeper of the World Tree. His sanctum sits on the top terrace behind a door, with bookshelves, an enchanting table and a purple bed. He trades things you will not find anywhere else:
| Trade | You pay | He sells |
|---|---|---|
| Worldbreaker | 64 diamonds + 1 nether star | An unbreakable netherite sword, enchanted |
| Rootsplitter | 48 diamonds + 32 emeralds | An unbreakable diamond pickaxe, enchanted |
| Wings of the Keeper | 64 diamonds + 1 nether star | Unbreakable elytra |
| Enchanted golden apples | 16 diamonds | 2 enchanted golden apples, up to 3 times |
| Seeds of Every Forest | 4 emeralds | A bundle of nine saplings, one for each forest, up to 8 times |
The three great items can be bought once each, and he never restocks. Choose what you buy. (On 1.21.1 the Keeper sells 16 cherry saplings instead of the bundle.)
Where they grow

Every biome gets its own mix. The maps show the tree tops from above: one 512 x 512 block area each. White boxes mark giants.
- Forest: 18 shapes. Twin, leaning and fancy oaks, birch candelabras, stumps, orchard groves. A towering Grandfather oak and a wide angel oak, rarely.
- Birch and old growth birch: whips, clumps and slim old trees, plus aspen clone groves. A white needle birch rises 102 blocks.
- Dark forest: cathedral, columnar, gnarled and twin dark oaks, with mossy stumps. A grand canopy tree or a witch tree, now and then.
- Taiga: spires, skirts, leaning spruce, banner spruce and fallen giant logs. Old growth taigas add mega pines and 68-block sequoias.
- Snowy taiga and grove: snow-burdened spruce, krummholz, bristlecone pines and the Sherman sequoia. Snowy plains stay open and snowy.
- Plains and meadow: lone oaks, hedge mounds, windbreak rows and small orchards. A lonely giant oak, here and there.
- Cherry grove: eight cherry shapes, wisteria and a niwaki pine. Grand bonsai cherries and the 93-block sakura cloud.
- Savanna: acacia shapes, baobabs, short avenues and cypress rows. Grand baobabs, banyans and the 125-block parasol colossus.
- Badlands and desert: scrub oaks, Joshua trees, quiver trees, dragon blood trees and oasis palms. A dead spire in the badlands. The barren look stays.
- Jungle and bamboo jungle: leaning trees, umbrellas, cycads, figs and a cathedral tree. Buttress and kapok giants, banyans and the emergent colossus.
- Swamp: drapes of oak, tupelo, bald cypress and willow, with veil oak giants.
- Mangrove swamp: 16 types, mangroves and nipa palms. Knee cathedrals and stilt titans as giants.
- Windswept hills, beaches and rivers: bonsai, bristlecone and flag trees on the hills. Palms and pines on beaches, willows and cypress on rivers.
- Pale garden (26.x only): six pale shapes, and a grand weeping pale oak.
- Mushroom fields: one very rare ancient yew. The huge mushrooms stay the stars.
Seen from afar
Giants are built to be seen. Climb a hill, look across a valley, and a Legendary tree breaks the horizon. That is the point: give the world landmarks, so you want to walk toward the next one.
Compatibility
- It only adds. Vanilla trees stay exactly where they were. Ours grow beside them.
- No blocks, no items, no new mobs. The mod is worldgen only, and every tree is made of vanilla blocks.
- Biome mods: trees are added through the vanilla biome tag for the overworld, so biomes from other mods that use it get them too.
- Fabric needs Fabric API. NeoForge needs nothing else.
FAQ
Does it replace vanilla trees?
No. Vanilla trees stay. We add new shapes beside them.
Will it hurt performance?
It uses vanilla worldgen only. Normal trees are placed like vanilla trees, and the giants are rare and far apart on purpose.
Can I add it to an existing world?
Yes. New trees grow in chunks you have not visited yet. Explored chunks keep what they have.
Can I change how many trees grow?
Not yet. A config for density and size classes is planned for an update.
Does it work on servers?
Yes. It is required on the server and recommended on clients.
Which Minecraft versions?
Minecraft 26.3 and 1.21.1, on Fabric and NeoForge. The pale garden trees only appear on 26.x. No Forge.
Where is the World Tree?
We will not say. It is extremely rare and hidden in big forests, taigas and jungles. Explore.
Can I use it in a modpack?
Yes, in modpacks on Modrinth or CurseForge that download it from the official page.
Can I make videos with it?
Yes, videos, streams and reviews are welcome anywhere.
