DecorationX: Christmas

Twenty-four doors, one for every day until Christmas. Here is what's behind a few of them:

• Door 1: a cozy cabin with three fireplaces, armchairs and a grandfather clock
• Door 6: four Grand Christmas Trees, baubles in nine colours and topper stars
• Door 12: a snowball launcher, a snow cannon and a redstone snowball turret
• Door 18: snowman helpers you build yourself, with a carved pumpkin
• Door 24: Old Frostbelly, the boss of winter. Bring friends.

Decorations

• Cozy home: three fireplaces with mantels, armchairs in six styles, a sofa, a dining set, a festive piano and a grandfather clock.
• Trees and trimmings: four grand Christmas trees, topper stars, baubles in nine colours, wreaths, garlands and stockings.
• Gifts and treats: presents in six colours, an advent calendar, gingerbread houses, cookies and milk, a cocoa station and a toy train.
• Lights: twinkle lights in six colours, icicle lights, lanterns, window candles, Moravian stars, light-up reindeer and lamp posts.
• Village and yard: cottages, shops and chapels, market stalls, sleighs, nutcrackers, carolers, ice sculptures and snowy pines.

Snowmen everywhere

The wild ones live in snowy biomes all year, three times as often in December.

• Friendly: Snowman Buddies, hopping Snowlets, Skater Snowmen on frozen rivers and Gift Snowmen that drop presents.
• Pranksters: Snow Tricksters throw snowballs in the dark and Snow Rollers bowl into you, but never take you below one heart.
• Minibosses: the belly-flopping Snow Bruiser and the Blizzard Mage, whose staff breaks into a rage at half health.
• Old Frostbelly (450 health): stamps, throws volleys and calls minions, sheds its belly as a rolling Frostbelly Ball and fights on as a floating head. It drops the Tree Topper Star, which no recipe makes.

Snowball Fun

• Snowball Launcher: hold to spray snowballs; sneak and use to switch ammo.
• Snow Cannon: hold to charge, release for one heavy shot; the home of the Giant Snowball.
• Snowball Turret: a 9-slot redstone turret that keeps firing while powered.
• Special snowballs: Giant (shoves), TNT (explodes), Frost (slows and freezes), Confetti, Glow and Snowdrift (leaves snow).

How to

Build a snowman helper

Put a Snowman figure on a snow block and a carved pumpkin on the figure: a Frosty Helper, who fights up close and refills your Snowball Turret with dropped snowballs. On a Green Scarf Snowman figure you get a Gunner Snowman, who throws snowballs at your enemies. Helpers follow and defend you, never hurt a player and heal when you feed them snow blocks or snowballs. Up to 4 per player.

Wake Old Frostbelly

Find it asleep in a grove, or build the ritual on flat ground: a 4x4 floor of snow blocks with a lantern on each corner, a 2x2 snow pillar two high in the middle, a Giant Carrot (eight carrots around a gold nugget) on the pillar and a carved pumpkin on the carrot. Needs Normal difficulty or harder.

Summon a Snow Bruiser

Stack two snow blocks, a gold block and a carved pumpkin (Normal difficulty or harder).

Wrap a present

Presents hold 9 stacks and keep them when broken, so a filled present is a gift you can hand over.

Install it on both the client and the server.

Configuration

TNT Snowballs follow tnt_snowball_block_damage in decorationx_christmas_snowball.json: auto (default) breaks no blocks on a dedicated server and works like TNT in single player and LAN; all, weak (follows mobGriefing) and none are the other choices. The December boost, the helper cap and the boss options (camera shake, music, damage cap, rituals) are in the mobs file.

Config files are created in the config folder on the first launch: decorationx_christmas_mobs_client.properties, decorationx_christmas_mobs.properties, decorationx_christmas_snowball.json.

FAQ

Forge? Quilt? Other versions?

Fabric and NeoForge on Minecraft 26.3 and 1.21.1 (Fabric needs Fabric API). No Forge. Quilt can usually load the Fabric file, but we only test Fabric and NeoForge.

Can I use it in a modpack?

Yes, in modpacks on Modrinth or CurseForge that download it from the official page.

Can I make videos with it?

Yes, videos, streams and reviews are welcome anywhere.

Server or client?

Both. Install it on the server and on every client. On a dedicated server TNT Snowballs break no blocks unless you change the setting above.
