Mine Mine no Mi : Sky Island 1.0.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Mine Mine no Mi: Sky Island 1.0.0 (beta)
Skypiea, complete. God himself waits on the deck of the Ark Maxim as the last Ordeal; the golden Shandora and the great serpent hide on the Upper Yards; the Golden Bell rings and makes peace with the Shandias; the express shrimp carries your boat in, and a balloon octopus brings it home. Eight new dials, the Vearth urn and its sherds, the conch lantern made over, an advancement tab of its own, and the whole mod in French.
Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+, Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.6 and AkumaLib 4.7.0 or newer. Client and server.
⚠️ Update AkumaLib to 4.7.0 before you start: Sky Island 1.0.0 does not load with an older one.
⚠️ On a server, the server and every player need Sky Island 1.0.0: a 0.4.0 game cannot join a 1.0.0 server, nor the other way round.
Worlds are kept. What you have already explored stays as it is; the golden Shandora, the serpent's lairs and the new chests appear in the parts you have not seen yet.
New
- Enel, the last Ordeal. Beat the four priests and a fifth Ordeal appears in the challenges menu, under God's Priests: God himself, on the deck of his flying ship, the Ark Maxim. Standard and Hard, as the others.
- A body of lightning. Blows go through him, and striking him with a hand or a blade shocks you back. He is hurt by Haki (or seastone, or rubber) at any time - and by anything at all for a few seconds after each of his great attacks, while he glows.
- You see every attack coming. He stands and shows where it will land: a ring on the deck for El Thor, a line for his bolts. Move out of it and you are missed.
- Gold carries lightning. The deck is wood barred with gold, and the rail is capped with it. When he drives his staff into the deck, the gold crackles, then strikes whoever stands on it: step onto the wood, or jump.
- Three phases. First his staff, El Thor and Sango. At two thirds of his health, his drums wake their beasts: Hino the bird, fast and burning; Kiten the wolf, which runs after you; Julungul the dragon, long and wide. In the last third, Raigo gathers over the Ark: a countdown at the top of the screen. If he still stands when it runs out, the ball falls on the whole deck and the Ordeal is lost.
- In Hard, he also turns into Amaru, the giant of lightning, for the whole last phase - and everything is faster.
- The powers of the Goro Goro no Mi. His lightning is the fruit's own: El Thor's pillar from the sky, Sango's bolts, the great dark ball of Raigo, the giant Amaru. A body of smoke, sand or fire does not protect you from it.
- What it gives. The gains of a challenge, more than any priest's - and at your first victory, his golden staff.
- Eight new dials. The dials of daily life in Skypiea, in the look of Mine Mine no Mi's own. Like the others they can be set down as a shell, they stack by sixteen, and the ones you use are spent by it.
- Lamp Dial: set it down, it gives light.
- Heat Dial: use it with raw food in your other hand and the whole stack is cooked at once. In a furnace it burns as long as a bucket of lava.
- Jet Dial: use it and you are thrown far, the way you look. The landing does you no harm.
- Ball Dial: use it and a ball of cloud forms under your feet and holds you a few seconds - handy to catch a fall.
- Tone Dial: set it down, it rings when a monster or a player comes near.
- Water Dial: use it for a jet of water ahead of you: it puts out fire, on you and in front of you, and pushes back whoever stands in it.
- Flavor Dial: set it down and the animals around come to it, as to their food.
- Vision Dial: use it to take a photo of what you see. Hold the photo to see it in your hand, hang it in an item frame, or right-click it to look at it full screen. It also keeps where you took it: its coordinates, its land and its world. Every player sees the same picture, even after the photo changes hands.
- Where to find them: they wash up on the Angel Beaches with the others, and the Skypiean dial merchants sell them. The two rare ones, Jet and Vision, are sold by Birka's dial craftsman.
- The golden Shandora. One Shandora in twenty is not a ruin: the City of Gold still stands, whole. Same square, same avenues, same halls and towers as the ruins - but with every wall up, gilded stone, roofs and gates of gold, and a clearing kept round it, so it shines out of the jungle.
- Rich everywhere. Every hall has a chest of gold, diamonds and rare dials, with a box in one chest in two. The crypt under the square gives two boxes a chest, a Golden one half the time, and netherite. About ten boxes in a city.
- Well kept. The Shandias are many there: their chief and warriors on the square, more in the avenues and in the crypt. They leave you alone as long as you touch nothing; open one chest and the whole city is on you.
- Found by chance only. No map and no trail tells a golden city from a ruined one: the altars' slabs lead to it as they lead to any Shandora.
- It appears on Upper Yards not explored yet.
- The great serpent of Upper Yard. On about one Upper Yard in four, a pit opens in the jungle: the lair of a giant serpent of Nola's kind, the one the Shandias worshipped. A rare boss - one to a lair, and it does not come back once killed.
- Its lair. A wide pit, stepped all the way round, cleared of trees. In the middle lies the carcass of one of its kind, and the serpent sleeps coiled round it. The Shandias' offering still stands on the rim.
- A very long body. Its head is only the start of it: strike it anywhere along its body and you hurt it. Stay against its coils and they crush and slow you.
- It swallows you whole. Now and then its bite takes you inside it: you are carried along and lose health little by little. Strike it from the inside, or have friends strike it from outside - enough blows and it spits you out in front of it. Left alone, it spits you out after a few seconds anyway.
- What it leaves. Its two fangs, a trophy. And under the carcass's ribs, its treasure: gold, diamonds, extol, a rare dial or an enchanted golden apple - and a Golden Box every time, with a second box beside it.
- It appears on Upper Yards not explored yet.
- The express shrimp. Come before Heaven's Gate in a boat and a giant shrimp rises out of the cloud under you, takes the boat on its back, crew aboard, and carries it past the Gate to the open sea by the island's seafront. Nothing to ask and nothing to pay: it is Skypiea's welcome.
- The balloon octopus: a gentle way down. The seafront's merchant, the one who sells wavers, now sells balloon octopuses too.
- Click your boat with one in hand: it takes hold of the boat and swells above it.
- Sail off the edge of the cloud sea: instead of dropping like a stone, the boat comes down slowly under the octopus, crew aboard, all the way to the world below, at the place you left from. Nobody is hurt and the boat does not break, on water or on land.
- One octopus, one descent: once the boat has touched down, the octopus lets its air out and goes home. An octopus whose boat is broken before it ever served gives itself back.
- It works on chest boats and wavers too.
- ⚠️ Without an octopus, the landing hurts. A boat that falls out of the sky bare breaks when it reaches the water or the ground (you get the boat back as an item), and everyone aboard is hurt by how far it fell - the whole way down from Skypiea is deadly for a newcomer. Good armour softens it, and so does the health that Doriki gives: a strong, well-armoured pirate can walk away from it.
- With Valkyrien Skies: click any block of your ship with an octopus in hand, and a great one takes hold of the whole ship. ⚠️ A ship now needs one to come down safely. Until now a ship that fell out of Skypiea was simply put back on the sea below; from this version it comes back high in the sky, like a boat: under its octopus it floats down slowly with its crew; without one it falls, and when it stops its crew takes the same blow as a boat's (the ship itself stays whole).
- The Golden Bell rings. Climb the Giant Jack, stand under the bell and click it: its voice carries over the whole island, to everyone on it.
- It makes peace. The first time you ring an island's bell, the Shandias of that Upper Yard hold nothing against you any more - not what you looted before, not what you take after. They still defend themselves if you strike them.
- The peace is yours for good, death included, and it is that island's only: another Upper Yard has its own bell, or none.
- The Vearth urn, made over. The urn now has the shape of Minecraft's decorated pot, fired in the brown earth of the Vearth, with the Vearth still in its mouth.
- Ten sherds of Skypiea to put on its sides: bell, serpent, ark, geyser, cloud, conch, thunder, bird, Shandia frieze and beanstalk, in gold on the brown clay. Craft the urn like a decorated pot, a brick or a sherd on each side, with dirt in the middle. Only these sherds go on it, not Minecraft's.
- Where to find them. In the chests of Shandora, of its small ruins and of the Shandia camps, in the serpent's lair, at God's shrine and at the altars. Brush the gravel among the paving of the small ruins. The Skypiean merchants sell the cloud, conch, bird and geyser ones.
- The urns of villages and temples, and those already in your world, now wear a few sherds of their own. A broken urn keeps its sides.
- The conch lantern, made over. It is now a real conch, spire up, lit from inside its mouth, and its mouth turns to you when you set it down. Hung from a ceiling, it hangs upside down.
- Sixteen colours. Put a lantern and a dye in the crafting table to colour it, and again to change the colour. A new lantern has the natural colour of a shell.
- A new recipe. A conch and a Lamp Dial make a lantern, lit already. Conches wash up on the Angel Beaches with the dials.
- In villages, a house's lanterns take the colour of its paint.
- The hole in the old lantern's texture is gone.
- An advancement tab of its own, Sky Island. A thread through Skypiea, in the order you meet it: the way up, Heaven's Gate and the express shrimp, a dial, a waver, a tamed bird and a ride on it, Weatheria, Birka, the Giant Jack and its bell, Shandora, the steles, each priest beaten in Standard and in Hard, the Sanctuary, and the way back under an octopus. Three stay hidden until you get them. None gives a reward.
- Sky Island in French. Everything you read has its French text, with the names of the official French version of One Piece: Ener, Bilca, the Prélats and their Ordalies, the Porte du Paradis, the Homard Express, the Octo-Ballon, the Cloche d'Or, the Arche Maxime, the Visio-Dial…
Changes
- The Shandias' weapons look like the anime. The Shandia spear is a wooden spear with a big leaf-shaped steel blade, the Heat Javelin has a red-hot point that glows in the dark, the Burn Bazooka is a long dark tube held in both hands, the Shandia shield is round, red and gold. Their icons, the great serpent's fang and the balloon octopus have new icons in Mine Mine no Mi's style.
- The creative inventory is in order. The Skypiea tab is sorted: clouds and terrain, the villages' blocks, Bilca, the Upper Yard and Shandora, furniture and sherds, the dials, the boats, the weapons. The spawn eggs moved to Minecraft's Spawn Eggs tab, grouped by people.
Fixes
- A chest boat or a waver that fell under the cloud sea never came back to the world below: it does now, like any boat.
- In multiplayer, a player who left the game while a boat came down under its balloon octopus, someone else still aboard, came back alone in the air and fell to their death. They are now back in the boat - or brought down slowly if it has landed meanwhile.
- At the weather vendor's booth, when another player buys a weather, your open window now greys its buttons at once.
- The balloon octopus no longer shakes above its boat on the way down.
Improved
- Birkan towns load faster. Walking into a living town of Birka for the first time makes the game work about a quarter less.
