MCA: Mob Compat

A compatibility layer that lets MCA Reborn treat modded mobs as the animals, mounts and livestock they are, and turns Guard Villagers guards into true MCA villagers with names, hearts, family trees and MCA's own interaction screen.

What's new

0.2.0

A major compatibility update focused on Guard Villagers, MCA villagers, and better support for modded animals.

Added

  • Guard Villagers can now function much more like proper MCA villagers while keeping their original guard appearance and combat behavior.
  • Guards now support MCA relationships, personalities, hearts, families, village membership, and interactions such as chatting, gifting, hiring, marriage, adoption, and more.
  • Full compatibility with MCA: Quests, MCA: Crime, MCA: Reputation, and MCA: Conversations.
  • MCA villagers can now be recruited as guards without losing their existing identity, family, genetics, personality, or inventory.
  • Guards now properly defend MCA villagers and avoid treating them as hostile targets.
  • Added protection options to stop MCA hunting chores from killing owned, named, leashed, or otherwise protected animals.
  • Improved support for modded livestock, pets, mounts, and NPCs from mods such as SWEM, Genetic Animals, and DragN's Livestock Overhaul.
  • Added new diagnostic commands for checking guards, proxies, mounts, classifications, and compatibility status.

Improved

  • Guard identities and relationships now use MCA's own systems instead of a separate imitation.
  • Guard interactions now use MCA's normal interface for a more consistent experience.
  • Improved guard appearance inside MCA: Conversations and MCA: Quests screens.
  • Expanded animal and NPC classification for better cross-mod compatibility.
  • Added additional configuration options for guard behavior and animal protection.

Fixed

  • Prevented Guard Villagers from converting MCA villagers in ways that could destroy their family, relationship, genetics, personality, or inventory data.
  • Fixed several compatibility assumptions involving MCA, SWEM, Genetic Animals, and Guard Villagers.
  • Improved compatibility safeguards so optional mods remain optional and do not cause crashes when missing.

Existing saves are migrated automatically.
