What's new

[0.3.0] — August 30th, 2026

A major step toward the interaction-first crime system, focused on server-authoritative actions, finite rewards, and closing major duplication, reroll, and custody exploits. Right-click with empty hand to open the Crime menu.

Added

  • A shared server-side action system with target locking, timed sessions, replay protection, and validated menu interactions.
  • A dedicated Crime action screen for Mug, Restrain, Apologize, Demand Ransom, and Release Captive, with contextual availability and server-provided reasons.
  • Finite villager purses and village treasuries, bounded refills, robbery limits, transaction receipts, and persistent crime/victim memory.
  • Persistent custody and ransom systems, including recovery, reconciliation, guard intervention, surrender, and captive release handling.
  • Timed escape attempts with deterministic results, interruption handling, and cooldowns.
  • Craftable rope, cuffs, and locked cuffs with server-side consumption.
  • World-data schema 4 and migration coverage for the new economy, crime memory, and custody systems.

Fixed

  • Mugging no longer targets nearby bystanders or generates unlimited emeralds.
  • Escape attempts can no longer be spammed to reroll success chances.
  • Ransom payments can no longer create emeralds, overdraw village treasuries, or select invalid payers.
  • Duplicate captures and actions are now rejected, and captors cannot exceed configured custody limits.
  • Death, logout, release, and disconnect events now properly clean up custody, ransom, leash, and action state.
  • Legacy, invisible, and duplicate custody records are reconciled and can be recovered.
  • Guards now respond correctly to reported crimes without relying solely on Wanted Heat.
  • Mugging panic is limited to the direct victim instead of causing permanent nearby villager panic.
  • Ransom settlements now record the correct extortion outcome without duplicating kidnapping charges.
  • Villager purses no longer incorrectly start empty when they should contain available rewards.
  • Custody, ransom, guard, and reconciliation systems now consistently use the authoritative world state instead of stale cached data.
