LNV 2.9.8 Samhain Update

What's new
Loam & Vessel 2.9.8 · The Samhain Update
The veil is thin, the nights are long, and things in your garden have started to end… and come back again.
New
- Name your pots. Use a named name tag on a pot and a little wooden stake sprouts in the soil at the front left, bearing the name you gave it. Every plant deserves to be remembered. The name also shows as the pot's title when you open it, and it stays with the pot when you break it and place it somewhere new. A pot renamed in an anvil arrives already marked.
- Pots answer to comparators. A comparator reading a pot now tells you how full its harvest is, exactly like a chest. Rig up a lamp that glows when a pot is begging to be emptied, or feed your sorting halls. The signal rises with the harvest and falls back to nothing when you gather it, over and over, as all things do.
Changed
- Tools now wear down… and die. Tools in a pot lose durability with each harvest, but only when they actually did something. Shears resting in a cactus are just keeping it company and will never wear. An axe felling a potted tree, or Fortune doing its work, pays the price. When a tool reaches its end, it breaks and vanishes with that sad little tink. Unbreaking helps them last longer. Mourn accordingly.
- The sage bundle returns like a spirit. After burning away, the sage bundle now reappears at the height of floating candles and drifts slowly back down into its pot, rocking and swaying like a feather settling into place.
Fixed
- Tea leaves at last. Bountiful Fares tea shrubs now give their tea leaves when shears are in the pot. The pot snips twice, the way you would by hand: once to take the berries, once for the leaves. Potted shrubs still go back to their baby selves after every harvest, because some things are meant to start over.
Happy Samhain from the garden. 🕯️
