Description
Linger
Seamless loading screens for Minecraft. When you leave a world or server, Linger keeps a snapshot of it. The next time you join, that snapshot is on screen while the world loads instead of the plain loading background, and it fades away smoothly once you are back in the game.
Linger is a small client-side mod for Minecraft on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, compatible with Mod Menu on Fabric.
Supported versions: Fabric 1.20 to 26.3, NeoForge 1.21 to 26.3, Forge 1.20.1.
Features
- Snapshot on the loading screen - joining a world or server shows the last thing you saw there behind the loading text and progress bar, so loading in feels like picking up where you left off.
- Fade in - when the world is ready, the snapshot fades into the live game instead of cutting to it. The fade time is adjustable.
- Leaving looks right too - while a world saves or a server disconnects, the world stays on screen instead of switching to the menu background.
- One snapshot per world and per server - every singleplayer world and every server address has its own snapshot.
- Clean shots - the snapshot is taken from the world itself, without your hotbar, chat, crosshair or the pause menu on top. It is taken when you pause or die, so whatever you last looked at is what you see when you come back.
- Blur and darken - optionally blur the snapshot and dim it so the loading text stands out.
- Nothing new on first visits - a world or server you have not left yet loads exactly like vanilla.
- Client-side only - nothing to install on a server.
Snapshots are saved as PNG files in config/linger/. Forget Snapshots in the settings deletes them all.
