This is a fork of LevelUp! Legacy, which itself is a port of the original LevelUp! mod.
This fork takes a different direction. Instead of leveling up farming, fishing, mining (like anyone was going to choose anything but mining...), the attributes in this mod are focused on combat, and classical RPG fantasy roles.
LevelUp RPG Edition is actually pretty simple. It only adds 6 attributes, and 6 classes (which can be toggled off in the config.) Just like in the original mod, skill points are gained as players level up. And just like the original, each attribute has a secondary effect.
Here are the attributes:
- Vitality: adds Max HP, and grants a small amount of natural toughness.
- Might: boosts melee damage, and improves your barehanded mining speed.
- Finesse: improves bow draw-speed, and reduces fall damage.
- Intelligence (requires ElectroBlob's Wizardry & Wizardry Player Mana Tweaked): increases your maximum mana and grants slight mana regen.
- Sneak: reduce how far away mobs detect you from (which grants access to bonus damage from sneak attacks), and improves crit damage
- Luck: actually just vanilla luck (doesn't do much), with the bonus of adding a random crit chance to your attacks.
And the classes (each is just a single game-defining perk):
- Berserker: heals upon killing things with melee attacks.
- Cleric (requires ElectroBlob's Wizardry): grants access to a special Book of Benediction, which unleashes powerful holy novas.
- Wizard (requires Wizardry Player Mana Tweaked): has fast natural mana regen.
- Archer: arrows that hit entities are returned immediately. Works with tipped, diamond, explosive, modded arrows, you name it.
- Rogue: crits during sneak attacks.
- Druid (requires Morph Tweaked): shapeshift into any mob you have slain.
IMPORTANT:
This mod relies on a lot of other mods in order to sell certain class fantasies. The magic, mana, and holy nova all rely on ElectroBlob's Wizardry, and Wizardry Player Mana Tweaked. The Druid's shapeshifting relies on Morph Tweaked.
The mod WILL still function without these other mods, but certain classes and attributes will be rendered useless... Or will they? This mod is highly configurable. In fact, its integration with those previous mods is actually done purely via commands. And guess what? You can configure those commands to do whatever you want.
You can also disable classes, tweak the ratio of skill points per level and per attribute bonus, change the caps, or even decide to make the Book of Benediction usable by anybody!
Speaking of the Book of Benediction, it has no crafting recipe. It is up to you to add one, or grant it as a quest reward, or shove it in some loot tables, or just spawn it in when appropriate. This is also true of the Respec books.
Requires some kind of mixin booter, I personally use FermiumBooter.

Think this mod is jank and ugly? Check out the far superior Menhir (I didn't make it).

Want Menhir itself to be less jank? Bug Dan, not me.
