Justify Test Chambers — Beta.95–Beta.129
Cumulative release notes for the Beta.95–Beta.129 update period. Justify Test Chambers was introduced in Beta.108. Minecraft 26.2 changes are listed separately below; the maintained Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 builds remain on Beta.127.
Create and play
- Added a dedicated workshop for creating, editing, sharing and playing test chambers.
- Added room presets, exact dimensions and solo/co-op settings. Creating a chamber now takes you directly into its Creative world with a building kit.
- Added start and finish points, checkpoints, starting inventory, playtesting, completion times and resumable playthroughs.
- Added validated
.jtcimport/export, reusable templates and separate play worlds. A new run does not change the author's project; editing an imported template creates an independent project. - Added LAN hosting controls for two-player chambers.
- Added progress bars and percentages for chamber generation and archive transfers.
Community catalogue and accounts
- Added the online community catalogue with title/author search, pagination and Solo/Co-op filters. Community Test Chambers now opens the map list directly.
- Added anonymous browsing, downloading and playing. An account is required to publish a chamber.
- Added browser-based sign-in using the website account, plus an account panel on the Portal menu. Removed the old password form and player-facing catalogue-address controls.
- Tied published authorship to account identity and removed the editable author field.
- Added publication updates, owner withdrawal and reports for problematic maps.
- Added submission receipts and visible pending, approved, rejected and hidden states, including moderator feedback. The previous approved version remains available while an update is reviewed.
- Fixed stale login state during publication. Expired or revoked sessions are cleared; temporary connection failures do not automatically sign the player out.
- Added completion-gated 1–5 star ratings, including guest ratings. A player can update an existing vote after finishing a chamber.
- Added play counts that track new attempts rather than downloads. Resuming or reconnecting to the same attempt does not count it again; offline results can synchronize later.
- Added author avatars beside ratings, with an initial as a fallback. Images load in the background and use a bounded cache.
Library and menus
- Rebuilt My Library with My Chambers for your projects and submissions, and Added Chambers for downloaded or imported maps.
- Grouped projects, downloaded revisions and saved playthroughs into one chamber entry. Status, moderator feedback, ratings and play counts appear in its details panel.
- Added search, publication-state filters and access to individual saves without duplicate chamber cards.
- Added grouped deletion, recoverable Trash, restoration and separately confirmed permanent deletion. Deleting a chamber collects its local copies into one trash entry; restoring does not overwrite existing files.
- Added a Portal 2-style main menu with an animated background, transitions, menu music and button sounds. Menu audio has independent volume controls.
- Refined the library and catalogue with pale Portal 2 panels, compact tabs and clearer selection states. Removed duplicate navigation and refresh controls.
- Added compact Aperture shortcuts to the title and pause menus, including direct access to the editor.
- Added English/Russian interface text, in-game help and an illustrated bilingual website reference covering controls, settings and devices.
Chamber rules and music
- Added per-chamber item pickup and dropping rules, both disabled by default during a run. Physical prop carrying remains available.
- Enforced inventory rules on the server for keyboard drops, inventory throws and dragging items outside the menu. Items left on the cursor remain owned by the player and return when space is available.
- Saved all 16 Portal Gun server options with each chamber, including portal placement rules, gravity and gel behavior. Authors edit them through the existing J settings; they are read-only during play.
- Preserved chamber rules through editing, export, publication, download and restart. Personal client preferences and global server defaults remain separate.
- Added a choice of 13 Portal 2 / Portal Stories: Mel music tracks, previews and No music. Playback streams and follows Minecraft's music volume; No music also suppresses random vanilla music in the chamber.
Experimental two-era chambers
- Added an opt-in editor action that creates a linked future room with progress reporting and protection against overwriting occupied space.
- Added support for Portal Gun's triple portal device and present/future indicators.
- Propagated authoring changes from the present to the future within the generated room bounds. Future edits stay independent, and ordinary gameplay signals are not mirrored.
- Preserved linked cubes, portal channels and timeline metadata through export, import and replay. Existing chambers remain outside this mode until the author enables it.
Time travel is experimental. It does not rewind an entire world, automatically age rooms or copy painted gel overlays. The linked-room limits are 128 original cubes and 64 temporal gun channels per chamber.
Compatibility and Minecraft 26.2
- Replaced the old beta-version allowlist with minimum dependency versions. Compatible older chamber saves remain playable and editable after mod updates when the Minecraft version matches.
- Added Minecraft 26.2 support on Fabric and NeoForge in one universal JAR, including NeoForge 26.2.0.88 compatibility.
- Updated chamber export/import for 26.2 world data and spawn formats, and added 26.2 catalogue filtering and archive support.
- Fixed a crash when transitioning from chamber creation into world loading on 26.2.
- Fixed Refresh tooltips appearing in the wrong place at different GUI scales, including keyboard focus.
- Requires matching Justify API and Justify Portal Gun versions. Justify Lasers is needed for chambers that use its content.
- Beta.129 is the Minecraft 26.2 release and requires Java 25. Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 use separate Beta.127 builds. Chambers are not automatically converted between Minecraft versions.
The Campaign entry is reserved for future story content. This release provides community chambers and authoring tools; online matchmaking and invite codes are not included.
