JRH Giants spawn five giant world bosses into the overworld, Hill, Stone, Frost, Fire and Storm. Each one lives in its own kind of country, carries a specific treasure, and teaches a different mechanic. No two are defeated the same way, and they do not get along with each other.
Requires Fabric API.
Five giants, five problems
The Hill Giant pounds the ground in the meadows and forests, and when he is hurt enough he enrages, breaks off and heals. The Stone Giant throws boulders from the peaks and shrugs off arrows and low-tier weapons entirely. The Frost Giant chills you with every hit and freezes the water under your feet. The Fire Giant swings a burning axe in the badlands, evaporates water, and hates snowballs. The Storm Giant is the king of the giants and spawns in a castle in the sky, born out of thunderstorms, and calls lightning down on his enemies.
A food chain, not a spawn list
Giants of different types attack each other on sight, so the landscape develops its own hierarchy. Anything killed by a giant drops nothing. Giants never despawn; once one has claimed ground. Creepers, goblins and Gnolls run from all of them, and everything except an iron golem runs from the Storm Giant.
The treasures
Every giant carries one thing worth the trouble. The Hill Giant has a Deepslate Pickaxe. The Stone Giant carries emeralds. The Frost Giant has blue ice and an enchanted spear. The Fire Giant holds Cinderclaw, his fire axe. The Storm Giant sits on diamonds, copper, and a Channeling Trident, up in a sky castle that hides against the clouds from below.
Features
• Five bosses on custom models, each with its own silhouette, animation set and signature move.
• Five separate counterplays.
• Giant versus giant warfare, with the loser's loot destroyed.
• A Storm Giant sky castle appearing in the sky from below.
• Persistent, territorial bosses that never despawn.
• Treasures that exist nowhere else, including the Deepslate Pickaxe and the Cinderclaw axe.
• Server friendly: a dedicated spawner, an overworld-only guard, and operator-gated admin commands.
• Respects mobGriefing - turning it off disables the Fire Giant's water evaporation and the Frost Giant's ice
• Works alongside JRH Creatures. Goblins and Gnolls flee giants when both are installed, with no hard dependency
Getting started
• Just play. Giants turn up on their own in the biomes that suit them, day or night.
• Wait out a thunderstorm and look up. The Storm Giant's castle has a small chance to be up there somewhere.
