JRH Creatures adds two rival humanoid factions that will organize themselves. Goblins swarm out of dark forests, Gnolls raid the savannas, and left alone they will crown kings, claim ground, build camps and go to war with one another. Behind them sits a summon-only Lich boss, and behind him the reward: a flying carpet.

Factions that organise themselves
Get three goblins together and one of them rises as a Hobgoblin - crowned, armoured, and leading the pack. The same happens with Gnolls and their King. Kings claim territory and their followers start building a camp around a campfire, block by block: cobblestone and oak for goblins, acacia and hay for gnolls. They never overwrite your blocks, your paths, your farmland, your chests, or a village.
Goblins and gnolls attack each other on sight, so the map develops its own factions without you touching it.
Two ways to handle them
Goblins are always hostile and they are allied with witches, so a forest camp is a real problem. Gnolls are not: hand a gnoll raw meat and it is pacified permanently, though attacking one breaks the truce for good. Both factions flee iron golems, and neither will spawn within 64 blocks of a village.
The Lich
The Lich does not spawn. You summon him, on a crying obsidian and gold altar, inside a 16 by 16 by 8 endstone arena out on the outer End islands. He throws fireballs, calls up bound undead, resists most damage, regenerates if you try to cheese him, and blinks back if you run. Killing him is not enough either - he binds himself to a phylactery you have to shatter first. Do all of this and he drops the Lich's Heart.
The Magic Carpet
The Heart is the last ingredient in a two-seat flying carpet with helicopter controls. It has no durability, it is immune to fire and lava, and riders take no fall damage. It does not work underwater.
Features
- Five entities: goblin, hobgoblin, gnoll, gnoll king and the Lich, each on its own custom model
- Emergent behaviour: pack following, cluster-spawned kings, block-by-block camps and inter-faction war
- A two-currency economy - Epic coins from goblins, Electrum from gnolls, each compressing to bars and blocks
- A multi-phase Lich fight with a phylactery, an arena leash and an anti-cheese design
- A two-seat Magic Carpet with helicopter controls, fire immune and fall-damage free
- Two lore books hidden in End ship and bastion chests that teach the ritual and the recipe in-story
- Server safe: village exclusion zones, population caps and iron golem avoidance
- Works alongside JRH Giants - goblins and gnolls flee giants when both are installed, with no hard dependency
Getting started
- Find a dark forest for goblins or a savanna for gnolls, and watch what they do rather than killing the first one you see.
- Collect Epic and Electrum coins, and compress them nine at a time into bars, then blocks.
- Find the two lore books, or craft the Summoning Tome: three diamond blocks, an ender pearl, an elytra, a book, a bone, rotten flesh and a wither skeleton skull.
- Build the altar, summon the Lich, shatter the phylactery, and take his Heart.
- Craft the carpet: one Epic block, one Electrum block, and the Lich's Heart.
