Immersive Pocket Dimensions

Addon for Immersive Portals that provides players with their own pocket dimension. Meant for fun, or unique gameplay challenges.

Current Scope

  • Dedicated pocketdims:pockets dimension.
  • Per-player private pocket cells spaced far apart inside that dimension.
  • One short-lived "open in front" pocket window.
  • Two temporary portal slots and one permanent portal slot per player.
  • Temporary portal slots close automatically after 60 seconds.
  • Portal size and orientation are configurable at summon time. Current size bounds are 0.5 to 8.0 blocks for width and height.
  • Summoned vertical portals spawn 3 blocks along the player's exact horizontal look direction and face back toward the player for sprint-through entry, including diagonal angles.
  • If the player is falling while summoning a vertical portal, the source portal becomes a floor catch portal below the player and fall distance is cleared after crossing.
  • Pocket-side entry anchors can be changed while standing inside the pocket dimension.
  • The last outside portal location is remembered, so players inside the pocket can open a return window.
  • Pocket cells start at Y=160. The default platform is generated once, then left editable.
  • Pocket portal use now emits a lightweight space-bending aura around the player, including subtle portal particles and nearby projectile warping.
  • Optional Unique Systems integration requires the player to own pocketdims:space_bender before pocket commands/keybinds work.

/pocketdims open is context-aware: outside the pocket dimension it opens an entry window; inside the pocket dimension it opens a return window to the last outside location.

Keybinds

The mod adds unbound controls under Immersive Pocket Dimensions in Minecraft's Controls menu:

  • Open Pocket / Return
  • Open Return Window
  • Create Temp Portal 1
  • Create Temp Portal 2
  • Create Permanent Portal
  • Close Temp Portal 1
  • Close Temp Portal 2
  • Close Permanent Portal

When Unique Systems is installed, that mod overrides these labels with obfuscated names and the server hides/denies the commands for non-owners.
