A magic mod about hextech crystals, essences and runes.
After a thunderstorm you find your first hextech crystals. Then you work out what everything in the world is made of and build tools and machines that run on it. The more magic you use near your base, the sicker the land around it gets.

300+ blocks and items · 22 essences · 72 runes · 180 steps in the guide
The mod is still in development, and a lot more is planned.
Page 4. Essences

Everything breaks down into essences. Coal is mostly fire, seeds are mostly life. I boil things in the alembic,
keep what comes out in jars and move it around with brass pipes.
Page 15. Runes

I find rune scrolls in dungeon chests, and sometimes I work one out myself while researching.
The altar burns them into tools and machines. My pickaxe smelts ore now and can see it through stone.
Page 19. Machines

Pylons carry items into chests, the reaper harvests the field around it, and the sawmill cuts trees
and plants new ones. They all run on essence from the jars nearby.
Page 22. The Void

I think I used too much magic around the house. The grass is going grey, there's a purple haze in the evenings,
and a few days ago a rift opened behind the barn. I haven't decided yet whether to close it or see what happens if I feed it.
Every page. The diary

I write down every step in my diary so I don't forget anything.
Getting started
Start with the Researcher's Diary (book + amethyst shard + feather). It shows what to do next and the recipe for it.
The first hextech crystals are under the glassy fulgurite marks on the surface. In creative, everything is in the Pocky Mods tab.
For modpack makers: every recipe is a data-driven recipe type (data packs, KubeJS), materials go by c: tags,
machines respect claims, the Thinning can be tuned or turned off. All of it is in the modpack guide. Free to use in any modpack.
