About
Some modded commands incorrectly implement a certain piece of code. This piece of code is used for sorting the list of commands alphabetically in the /help command. This incorrect code actually causes the /help command to break with an error that is vague and confusing.
HelpFixer changes the /help command to go around the offending code and sort the commands by a method that will work. HelpFixer also logs offending commands to the server log, allowing you to figure out who was causing the problem.
HelpFixer is a server-side only mod! This means HelpFixer should be installed wherever the "server" is. In SSP that is your client, but in SMP that is on the actual server.
I'm having a error since i've downloaded your mod
In the server console I often in the past used commands like /help and /list.
/list does not work at all and /help now give me:
[13:08:37] [server thread/ERROR]: Couldn't process command: 'help'
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates its general contract!
If I am using this mod in a modpack, is that a problem packing the mod in the client, but the when they choose to play on a server, it would be on both: client and server?
Is this still needed in 1.12?
In reply to Alaberti:
Please help me my world isn't loading it just says "loading world" and "building terrain"

wish this would update to 1.10.2 as my /help does not work and i try it with 1.9 help fixer but it did not fix it. :(
this worked for me thank you very much sir
ps. if anyone else has the issue, im running
FTB infinity evolved 2.22
Thanks, surprised iguanatweaks is the culprit. (IguanaTinkerTweaks-1.7.10-2.1.5.jar in 1.7.10)
With iguanatweaks in, this doesn't seem to make help work though. When I do /help, it doesn't show any and says "You must specify which player you wish to perform this action on". I'm not sure what action it's trying to do.
Edit: Well I deleted the world and remade it, and now it works. No clue why though. (Without helpfixer, don't know about with it.)
Hi,
Can I have your permission to use this in my modpack ?
Credits will be there and a link to this forumpost.
Kind Regards,
Ariva aka deadspaceXD
Cannot thank you enough for this. Instantly a must-have utility for all my servers.
Would love to be able to have it sorted alphabetically by mod group. i.e.
Applied Energistics
- commands in alphabetical order
BuildCraft
- commands in alphabetical order
etc. etc.
Thanks! Now I can keep all my favorite mods without their derpyness affecting my commands!
An idea that comes to mind is sorting the commands based on mods. IF it were to work on ssp perhaps it could read configs for commands and apply them to the /help command in ssp.
Could you make it so that this works client side too? The same issue happens in single player since many mods that cause the problem has that command in SP too!
It should work just fine in single-player. Keep in mind that it has to be installed on the "server" because that's where the /help command is processed. This is your client in single-player, and the actual server in multi-player.
how i can use it?????

It's a mod. just toss it in your mods folder.
