Description

Grade Stakes

A construction rise/run schedule, not another distance-only measuring tape.

Craft two Grade Stakes (copper ingot over stick over oak plank) and a Survey Cord (sticks top/bottom center; string, purple dye, string across the middle). Place stakes at construction endpoints and right-click each with the cord. The report counts from the lower stake and lists exact rise cells.

  • Cardinal straight routes, 1–128 blocks horizontally, at most one block of rise per horizontal block.
  • Stairs mode marks uphill stair cells and full-block flats; sneak-click a stake with the cord to change mode. Full-block mode uses jump steps.
  • Hold the cord for orange rise-cell and pale flat-cell particles nearby. Normal particle settings apply.
  • No commands or new keybinds. No automatic block placement, inventory changes, chunk loading or claims bypass.

Replace stakes with construction blocks when finishing endpoints. This is a layout aid, not pathfinding or an obstacle/headroom guarantee. No diagonal or curved routes. Both stakes must remain present and loaded in the same dimension for markers.

Install on both client and server: Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, Java 21. No external mod dependency. No 26.3 release is available yet.

New beta; bugs may remain. Integer planner, exact-JAR server integration and save/restart checks passed. Basic actual 1.21.1 surveying and marker rendering were checked. Broader route, multiplayer, layout and modpack testing is not exhaustive.
