Description

GEMIFY

Gemify is a fabric mod that adds new ores into the world. Explore caves to find these new resources, and discover their unique properties.

This mod requires the Fabric API to run.

What are the primary goals of Gemify?

  • To add new textures that enhance the building experience,
  • To add new resources to be collected (and in a later update, farmed),
  • To add new tools to enhance PvE and PvP.

What does Gemify add?
Currently, the mod adds 14 gemstone types, a full description of each gemstone type can be found below.

Topaz: A yellow gem found high up in the overworld. When thrown, it will highlight nearby mobs briefly, which can help locate hidden enemies or nearby caves. Topaz can be crafted into an extensive number of decorative blocks, which can be treated with a flint and steel to change their color.

Ruby: Deep down in the overworld, rubies are a bright red gemstone that have fiery properties. They can be crafted into a special weapon that will set fire to nearby mobs when used. When crafted with topaz, they heighten the locating effects of topaz. You can also craft a new light source out of the ruby.

Sapphire: Also found in the deepslate layer is the royal blue sapphire. Sapphire blocks, and glass crafted from sapphires, are blast proof blocks. Sapphires can also be made into sturdy yet transparent shields.

Aquamarine: Only found in ocean biomes, aquamarines are light blue gems that exhibit some watery properties. They can be crafted into a special weapon that briefly douses nearby mobs in water, extinguishing them (this is very useful when fighting blaze). Aquamarine can also be made into a number of decorative blocks when crafted with glass or prismarine.

Garnet: Found when searching hot biomes such as a desert, garnets can be crafted into special flame arrows that ignite anyone they touch.

Floatstone: A green gemstone that generates in the clouds, which themselves generate above mountain biomes. Can be used to create arrows with the properties of the wind.

Snow Quartz: High up in the mountains, a cold quartz type can be found that can be crafted into frost arrows, projectiles that briefly freeze their target. Can also be crafted with cobblestone to make calcite.

End Quartz: A quartz type found far out in the End. A dusty purple color, end quartz has some magnetic properties, and can be crafted into a special magnet that attracts or repels items and projectiles.

Rose, Smoky, and Minty Quartz: Three more quartz types found in the nether. Rose quartz can be located in Crimson Forests, while Smoky quartz is found in the Soulsand Valley and Minty quartz in Warped Forests. Along with snow quartz and end quartz, all five quartz types have a plethora of decorative blocks they can be made into.

Shock Quartz: A quartz type found among the clouds. A vibrant blue color, it can be used to create arrows with lightning properties.

Thunderstone: A rare gemstone that forms when lightning strikes. It can be used as a substitute for shock quartz.

Crimsonite: A blood red gemstone found deep in the overworld. It can be used to make special equipment with unique traits... And unique drawbacks. Crimsonite is very hard to find, however if you can get your hands on crimson crystals, you can use them in place of crimsonite. How do you get hold of crimson crystals? Try putting a book and a piece of crimsonite into an anvil and see what happens...

Will Gemify be updated in the future?
Yes, I have plans to expand the uses of existing gemstones, and add more in the future.

Will Gemify be ported to forge?
No.

I found a bug in this mod, what should I do?
