Description
Enhanced Equipment Display
Enhanced Equipment Display is a client-side mod designed for modpacks with large amounts of weapons, tools, shields, and custom items.
Inspired by the concept of YDM's Weapon Master, this mod focuses on giving players and modpack creators more control over how their hotbar equipment is organized and displayed.
Customization
Enhanced Equipment Display allows you to organize your equipment using customizable categories and priorities.
You can:
- Categorize items such as weapons, shields, tools, bows or crossbows.
- Combine categories to create your own priority system.
- Customize individual items independently from their category.
- Change how specific custom items are handled.
- Create setups designed specifically for large modpacks with many different items.
This means you can have general rules for entire categories while still being able to customize individual items whenever necessary.

Equipment Display & Mod Compatibility
The display system is designed to work with popular combat and weapon mods while handling the way they interact with the hotbar and inventory.
Better Combat and Epic Fight can temporarily hide or change items when using two-handed weapons or different combat mechanics. Enhanced Equipment Display is designed to properly account for these situations.
TaCZ (Timeless and Classics Zero) also receives dedicated support, allowing its weapons to be categorized and customized for more tactical equipment setups.
The display also includes a transparency effect for Shoulder Surfing, helping keep the equipment display from obstructing the player's view.
I also added a configurable visual improvement where the shield will always remain visible on the player's back and will visually move to the off-hand whenever the player has a sword or tool in their main hand. This behavior can be enabled or disabled in the configuration.

Better Combat has been tested more extensively, while Epic Fight compatibility is still partially tested.
Designed for Modpacks
Enhanced Equipment Display is mainly designed for large modpacks with many custom items.
The more weapons and equipment your modpack adds, the more useful the customization system becomes.
Players can create their own equipment setup, while modpack creators can configure specific items and categories to fit the pack's gameplay.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Enhanced Equipment Display and YDM's Weapon Master?
Both mods share a similar concept, but Enhanced Equipment Display focuses more on large modpacks, custom items, categories, and individual item customization.
It is intended as an alternative with a stronger focus on customization and compatibility with modern combat and weapon mods.
YDM's Weapon Master is still a great option for simpler setups and versions where this mod is not available.
Why only 1.20.1 Forge and 1.21.1 NeoForge?
For now, development is focused on these versions because they have a large selection of mods and modpacks.
Fabric and other Minecraft versions are planned for the future.
Is this mod client-side only?
Yes. The mod is primarily client-side.
Having it installed on the server is also recommended for multiplayer so customized settings can be shared between players.
Where can I report bugs?
You can report bugs and compatibility issues in the dedicated thread on the official TaCZ server:
Report a Bug or Compatibility Issue
Can I use this mod in my modpack?
Of course, bro—that's the whole point of this mod.
If you find a mod that does not work correctly with Enhanced Equipment Display, please let me know. The mod is still in an early development stage, so compatibility with every mod cannot be guaranteed.
