Description
# End Remastered Eye Config
**Decide where every End Remastered eye comes from.**
End Remastered asks you to collect its eyes all over the world, but in a modpack the default spots don't always fit. Maybe a structure doesn't generate, or your pack has bosses that deserve a reward. With this mod you can make **Ignis drop the Nether Eye**, put the **Old Eye in your favourite modded dungeon**, or **remove an eye** from the place it normally comes from. Every source gets its own chance.
It all lives in one JSON file, with no datapack needed. Reload it in game with a command.
Works with **any item**, not only End Remastered eyes.

## ✦ Features
- **Bosses and mobs**: add an eye to the drops of any entity. This works with **modded bosses that drop loot from code** (Cataclysm, etc.), not only those that use loot tables.
- **Structures**: add an eye to every chest opened inside a structure. You don't need to know its loot table, just the structure id (`/eyeconfig here` tells you).
- **Loot tables**: add an eye to any loot table, vanilla or modded.
- **Remove defaults**: strip an eye from everywhere it normally comes from (`remove_defaults`), or only from some places (`remove_from`). This also catches the eyes End Remastered adds through its own loot modifiers.
- **Your numbers**: each source has its own `chance` (0-1 or 0-100), `count` (`2` or `[1, 3]`) and an optional `require_player`.
- **Tags** work with `#`: `#minecraft:village`, `#c:bosses`...
- **Eyes survive the fight**: eyes dropped by mobs can't be destroyed by fire, lava or explosions. Bosses like Ignis leave the floor burning.
- **Validation**: typos in item, loot table, structure or mob ids are reported, and so is an eye that became impossible to obtain (so nobody gets stuck without a portal).

## ⌨ Commands (op level 2)
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| `/eyeconfig reload` | Reloads the config and lists any problems |
| `/eyeconfig list` | Shows every active rule |
| `/eyeconfig here` | Shows the structure you are standing in (click to copy the id) |
| `/eyeconfig tables <filter>` | Lists loot table ids (click to copy) |
| `/eyeconfig simulate <table> [times]` | Rolls a chest loot table N times at your position and shows how often each eye came out |
---
## ⚙ Example: `config/eyeconfig.json`
```json
{
"debug": false,
"eyes": {
"endrem:nether_eye": {
"remove_defaults": true,
"mobs": [ { "id": "cataclysm:ignis", "chance": 1.0, "require_player": true } ]
},
"endrem:cursed_eye": {
"remove_defaults": true,
"mobs": [ { "id": "cataclysm:netherite_monstrosity", "chance": 1.0, "require_player": true } ]
},
"endrem:old_eye": {
"loot_tables": [ { "id": "minecraft:chests/desert_pyramid", "chance": 0.25 } ],
"structures": [ { "id": "#minecraft:village", "chance": 50 } ]
},
"endrem:cold_eye": {
"remove_from": [ "minecraft:chests/igloo_chest" ],
"structures": [ "minecraft:ancient_city" ]
}
}
}
```
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `remove_defaults` | `true` removes the item from **every** loot table and mob drop, so only your sources give it |
| `remove_from` | Removes it only from these loot tables, structures or mobs |
| `loot_tables` | Adds it to these loot tables |
| `structures` | Adds it to chests opened inside these structures |
| `mobs` | Adds it to the drops of these entities |
| `debug` | `true` writes every item the mod gives to the log, handy to check your rules |
Keys starting with `_` are ignored, so you can disable a rule by renaming `endrem:old_eye` to `_endrem:old_eye`.

## ℹ Notes
- **Only the server needs it.** Clients without the mod can join, but they see command messages as untranslated keys.
- Chest loot is rolled the first time a chest is opened. Chests that were already opened don't change.
- End Remastered's villager trades are not touched.
- Languages: English, Spanish (Mexico and Spain).
