Enderthing provides the ability to have globally-shared inventories.
You can access those inventories by using a key on any Ender Chest, or you can place a lock on an Ender Chest to bind it to this inventory permanently.
WARNING: Data loss bug in versions 0.5.4 and earlier
If you die in 0.5.4 and earlier, the contents of your private inventories WILL be lost, with no way to recover the data other than a world backup! Please upgrade ASAP, as the new storage system introduced in 0.6 does not have this issue.
Current Features
• Ender Key: By shift-rightclicking on an Ender Chest, you can open the shared inventory corresponding to the color code of the key. Anywhere, any time.
• Private Keys: These items act like the normal keys, but instead of opening a global inventory, the inventory is player-bound instead, which means other players will get separate inventories from you.
• Ender Lock: By shift-rightclicking on an Ender Chest, you can permanently convert this chest into an Ender Key Chest, which will allow hoppers and other pipes to access the chest.
◦ If you use the lock on an already-keyed chest, the old lock will pop off, meaning it's reusable.
◦ If you want to de-key a chest, put it on your hand, and shift-rightclick on air.
◦ Private Locks: Similarly to keys, they act like normal locks, but with a caveat: Private chests can not be automated, since the inventory is bound exclusively to the player.
• Ender Key Chest
• Use Silk Touch to break without losing the Eye, like in vanilla!
• Ender Packs: Same principles as the chests and keys: normal ones access the global network, private ones access the private network.
• Ender Security Card: Once bound to a player, the card can be used to bind a chest to a player, so that the inventory becomes automatable.
Can I use this in <X>?
Yes. Unless <X>'s license is incompatible with this mod's, which is unlikely.

No 1.12.2? 🥺
In reply to dkoinu:
Nope! I had stopped development in 1.11, then revived this project in 1.14.
sorry to bother if it's been answered before, I forgot the 'key' to my global unlocked chest lol. im dumb. is there a way to look it up?
In reply to NebulousNoir:
Open the data file ... <save location>/data/enderthing_InventoryStorageManager.dat ... with NBT Explorer.
You will see all the inventories there, with their contents and key.
In reply to gigaherz:
Err, if it's one that you have placed already, you can see the key by opening the key set GUI. Remove the lock from the chest, then shift-right-click on air. It will show the current key at the top.
In reply to gigaherz:
thanks so much!
Is there any progress on the private key/lock recipes not being shown in jei?
In reply to CMHcreater:
There wasn't until I read that message because it had never occurred to me to do that. I released v1.2.7 for 1.18.2 which adds dummy recipes to JEI.
Ender chests with locks don't make any sounds when opened. I have the latest version, but I'm still on 1.18.1. If there is no issue on 1.18.2 then you can ignore it.
In reply to lukas_leviathan:
I didn't change anything related to sounds, so odds are the issue still exists. I am going to guess I never actually wrote the logic for making sounds on open/close!
In reply to gigaherz:
v1.2.6 should have a working lid with sound. :)
No 1.12.2 :/
In reply to gmanatheist1:
Nope, I shelved the mod after 1.11, and then picked it up recently after I got a really good idea of how to redesign it.
The old mod was too much of a copy of Ender Storage chests.
In reply to gigaherz:
Thanks for the reply . Hope it works out. Would be great in 1.12.2. :)
Another small thing: I noticed that ender key chests (ender chests with a key) are not rotated correctly with the structure block while saving&loading structures, unlike vanilla chests&ender chests. I understand that this is not a functional issue, but it would be cool if they worked fine with the structure block too!
In reply to lukas_leviathan:
I'll look into it. There's probably some method I have to implement, to support it.
In reply to gigaherz:
v1.2.1 should fix both the comparator and the rotation. but I didn't actually test either of them.
In reply to gigaherz:
Awesome! I'm still on MC 1.18.1... can I use the new mod version or do I have to update minecraft first? I'm unsure if I have to wait every mod I use to be updated or if I can use them on the new version without worry. I suppose I should be able to since it's just a minor patch.
In reply to lukas_leviathan:
It should work on 1.18 and 1.18.1 yes, but I haven't tested it.
In reply to gigaherz:
Sorry for pestering :D but using v1.2.1 I get 3 errors from the mod. I tried it both on MC 1.18.1 (where the previous version was working fine) and on MC 1.18.2 (only with that mod active). Here's the crash report from 1.18.2: https://pastebin.com/i2M8yqjp
I'm not confindent that I didn't messed something up updating, so maybe there is that, but at least the previous version is working fine.
