📖 Enchanter's Bench
Stop rolling the dice. Choose your enchantments.
✨ Overview
|
Enchanter's Bench adds an advanced enchanting table that puts you in control. Put an item on the table, see every enchantment it can take, and pick exactly which ones to apply and at what level, with a slider for each. No random offers, no three-way gamble. It is a NeoForge 1.21.1 port of Enchanting Plus by DarkhaxDev (originally by lclc98, Xkyouchoux, odininon and GnRSlash), licensed under LGPL-3.0. This port is unofficial and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original authors. See how it differs from the original below. |

🎯 Features
🎚️ Pick the enchantment and the level
Every enchantment the item can take is listed with a slider. Move it to the level you want, watch the total cost update, and click once to apply everything. You can also lower or remove enchantments that are already on the item.
💰 A cost that makes sense
The experience cost scales with the enchantment's weight and its level. Rare enchantments cost more, and the whole formula is configurable. Enchanting an item you could not otherwise enchant is not free, but it is predictable.
📚 Bookshelves bring the price down
Bookshelves placed around the table give you a discount, just like around a vanilla table. The floating books of the decorative blocks count too, and their power is a config option.
🌞 Treasure and curses have conditions
Treasure enchantments such as Mending can only be applied in daylight, on a table standing on a floor of precious materials. Curses can only be touched near midnight on a night with a full moon.
📁 Decorative books
Seven decorative book blocks — the mod's own, vanilla, prismarine, nether, pale, metal and tartarite — each with its own floating, page-turning book.
🔧 Upgrade your table
Craft the Table Upgrade and combine it with a vanilla enchanting table, or craft the advanced table directly.
⚙️ Configurable and translated
Base cost, cost factor, treasure and curse multipliers, floating book power, and blacklists for items and enchantments. Available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Chinese (simplified and traditional).

💭 Notes
- Enchanter's Bench is a port of Enchanting Plus 5.0 (LGPL-3.0). The original authors are credited in the mod and the source.
- It uses its own id,
enchanters_bench, so it does not conflict with any other port of Enchanting Plus. - There are no dependencies besides NeoForge, and nothing is bundled from other mods.
- Enchantments from other mods work too, since they are data in 1.21: they appear on the table when the item supports them.
🔀 How it differs from the original
Enchanter's Bench is a derivative work of Enchanting Plus (LGPL-3.0, by DarkhaxDev), which stopped at Minecraft 1.12.2. The original is open source, and this port is distributed under the same license, with the original authors credited in the mod, the source and here.
- Platform: rewritten for NeoForge 1.21.1 (the original targets Forge 1.12.2). It is not a drop-in replacement and shares no save data with it.
- Enchantments are data: cost and availability use 1.21's data-driven enchantments (weights, treasure and curse tags), so enchantments from other mods work automatically.
- Recipes, config, networking: recipes are JSON files, the config uses NeoForge's config system, and the GUI/networking use the 1.21 menu and payload APIs.
- No Bookshelf library: the original required it, this port has no dependencies besides NeoForge.
- Not included: the original's JEI and CraftTweaker integrations.
- Renamed: own mod id
enchanters_benchand a renamed decorative variant (eplusbecamebench), so it does not conflict with other ports. - Textures: vanilla textures are not redistributed; the original's custom book, upgrade and GUI textures remain credited to the original authors.
