Earthquake opens fissures in the terrain, with blocks crumbling and falling into the gaps as they form. Depending on the settings, a quake can leave shallow cracks or chasms up to 200 blocks deep.
Commands
/earthquake startstarts a standard quake./earthquake start <intensity> <duration> <radius>lets you set its strength, duration, and size. Intensity goes up to 20./earthquake stopstops the destruction.
Start with a low intensity to get a feel for how much terrain it changes.
Performance and requirements
Version 1.5.0 adds smoke and dust around fissures, falling ceiling dust, and smoother screen shake. The mod caps its workload to help limit lag. Large quakes still change thousands of blocks, so high settings can be demanding on weaker hardware.
Embeddium is recommended for rendering performance, but is optional.
For Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. The original release lists Java 17; the 1.5.0 file lists Java 21. Check the file requirements when choosing a download.
