Earth Breaker Apocalypse: Core
A living atmosphere for Minecraft, and the natural disasters it unleashes.
The weather in this mod is simulated. The world is covered in weather cells that track temperature, humidity, pressure, wind and cloud cover. Fronts move across the map, storms form where the air allows it, and what you see in the sky is what is actually happening over your head.
Weather
Rain, drizzle, snow, hail and freezing rain, falling where the air is actually wet and cold enough.
Seasons that change the temperature over the year.
Flooding when it rains for too long.
Aurora on clear, cold nights.
Storms
Thunderstorms and supercells.
Tornadoes rated from EF0 to EF5, and waterspouts over the sea.
Dust storms and haboobs in dry lands.
Blizzards that can set off avalanches.
Typhoons with names and categories, from 1 to 5. The first one is always called Betty.
Disasters
Tsunamis that rise out of the ocean and sweep inland.
Earthquakes with fissures, falling rock and aftershocks.
Meteors and meteor showers that leave craters and meteorite you can mine.
Volcanoes: giant mountains that erupt with real lava rivers and lava bombs, roughly every 50 hours you spend near one. Throw something into the lava lake and there is a 10% chance it erupts right away.
Wildfires that spread with the wind and the dryness of the air, and fire whirls.
Avalanches on snowy slopes.
Gear
Barometer, hygrometer, thermometer, wind vane and rain gauge, as blocks and as handheld tools.
Storm glass that reacts to pressure, and a weather station that prints forecasts.
Radar dish, radar console and radar maps.
Lightning rod mast, storm shutters, reinforced glass and insulated panels.
Rain cloak and an insulated set of clothing against the cold.
A meteoric jetpack, forged from meteoric iron and fuelled with charged crystals.
