What's new
First release of Drone Swarm! Build and fly quadcopters with guns.
The Gun Drone: build it from parts (body, flight controller, gun, four motors, four rotors), add a battery and an ammo belt, and place it. Pick it up with an empty hand. Up to five per player.
The Drone Remote: pairs to you. Its menu lists your drones with battery and status, even far away, and its buttons do previous and next drone, auto target, target filter, swarm, power off, sentry, return home, return to dock and auto land.
Live camera: a full HUD, a drone's-eye view and a chase view (F5), free look while the autopilot flies, recoil shake, and night vision on N.
Weapons: 5.56x45mm NATO rounds and a 500-round ammo belt you load by hand. Fire yourself, or use auto target (hostile mobs only, or all). It never targets you, your pets or villagers.
Sentry mode: guards a spot, recharges when it runs low, and goes back on post.
Swarms: up to four wingmen fly in formation with seven tactics of their own, and land and dock together with the leader.
Autopilot: return home, auto land, return to dock, and an automatic trip home on a low battery. It routes around terrain and out of caves and ravines.
Flight and survival: about 10 minutes of flight per battery. Drones sink in water and blow apart when shot down. Your body stays where you left it, and can be hit and knocked back.
Docks: a 2 x 2 dock charges the drone wirelessly, and its robotic arm reloads the ammo belt from stored rounds. A readout shows its power, rounds and the docked drone's charge.
Power: solar panels, power cables that run around terrain, and a battery charger. Busy machines keep working while you are elsewhere, and no drone drains its battery while you are away from the world.
Crashes: drones are solid. A drone you fly is hurt if it crashes at speed, but swarms never hurt each other.
Polish: original sounds, messages on the HUD instead of chat, mobs that spawn around a drone you fly far away, and a Mod Menu icon with links to the Modrinth and CurseForge pages.
