What's new
Dragon Block: Tenkaichi 0.2.0
Added
Character creation
- The feminine presentation now really looks feminine for every race: a modelled bust (also under the outfit), a slimmer build, lashes, colored lips and blush, and a feminine canonical hairstyle suggested when you switch presentation.
- Canonical hairstyles: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan (Cell Saga), Future Trunks, Yamcha, Raditz, Bald (Krillin, Tien), Android 18, Videl and Chi-Chi.
- Transformations change the hair according to the chosen style, as in the series: Goku’s upright golden spikes with a single bang, Vegeta’s taller golden flame, Raditz’s golden mane, sharper and more rigid spikes in Super Saiyan 2, the long mane in Super Saiyan 3; bald characters stay bald.
- Outfits are now real wearable pieces instead of being painted on the body: martial arts gi, battle armor and casual clothes, each with top, pants and boots.
- The chosen outfit is equipped when the character is created (existing characters receive it once); pieces give a little armor and can be swapped, removed and mixed.
- The main color is a real dye color, so pieces can also be re-dyed with vanilla dyes; the detail color is kept from the creator.
Transformations
- Transformation trials: a transformation is unlocked by reaching its Potential level and base Battle Power, then defeating yourself already in that form. Press transform once to be warned and again to start the trial, or use the Trial button in the Forms tab of the character menu.
- Super Saiyan (Potential 8, base BP 20,000): on Planet Namek, with blue-green lakes, Ajisa trees and rock spires.
- Super Saiyan 2 (Potential 20, base BP 90,000, after Super Saiyan): on the Cell Games ring, with its tiled square and four white spires at the corners, in a rocky wasteland.
- Super Saiyan 3 (Potential 35, base BP 250,000, after Super Saiyan 2): in a rocky canyon with layered walls.
- Your mirror copies your look and fights with your techniques' style in the target form.
- Super Saiyan 2: lightning aura and sharper spikes.
- Super Saiyan 3: a long spiky mane down to the knees that keeps hanging naturally when you look up, and a lightning aura.
- New canonical cutscenes, shortened from the original scenes, with their own effects and sounds:
- Super Saiyan 2 (Gohan against Perfect Cell): close-up of the face, then the character alone on a black background while a glowing red streak slices across the screen behind him, a scream on a yellow-green background, a blinding flash from below, the explosion and the reveal with lightning;
- Super Saiyan 3 (Goku against Majin Buu): the ground shakes, the sky goes wild with clouds racing back and forth, lightning strikes while the hair grows, then a blinding flash and the reveal.
- Kaioken: a separate power-up that every race can use, stackable on top of compatible forms (base and Super Saiyan).
- Levels x2, x3, x4, x10 and x20, unlocked as your Kaioken mastery grows.
- Press Y to raise the level; after the highest unlocked level it turns off. Power down (B) also releases it.
- Multiplies Battle Power, damage and speed, but drains Ki and health; it breaks off when your body cannot take the strain.
- Red-tinted aura and a Kaioken indicator on the HUD.
- Forms can declare compatibility through the new datapack field
kaiokenCompatible.
Techniques
- New techniques: Galick Gun, Masenko, Special Beam Cannon, Final Flash, Big Bang Attack and Death Beam.
- Every technique has its own canonical animation, in third and first person, and its charge glow appears where the hands are:
- Kamehameha: hands cupped at the side with the body turned;
- Galick Gun: body turned the other way with both arms drawn back, then both palms forward;
- Masenko: both hands raised above the head, then thrust forward from above;
- Special Beam Cannon: two fingers to the forehead, then one arm pointed at the target; the beam is a thin core wrapped in a spinning spiral, as in the anime;
- Final Flash: arms spread wide, then brought together in front;
- Big Bang Attack: one open palm thrust forward;
- Death Beam: a quick one-finger point;
- Ki Blast: alternating palms.
- Techniques are now learned by buying them with Training Points or from Masters, never automatically.
- Racial techniques and the Kaioken can be bought from the Techniques tab of the character menu, once your base Battle Power is high enough.
Masters, lessons and trials
- Canonical Masters: Master Roshi, Korin and Kami, each with their own look (Korin is a small, cat-sized white cat with ears, muzzle and tail).
- Talking to a Master opens a lessons menu: buy a lesson with Training Points or take the Master’s trial.
- Master Roshi: Kamehameha.
- Korin: Senzu Beans and the Sacred Water trial (+2 Speed, Agility and Martial Arts).
- Kami: the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, once per day (+250 TP).
- Trials work like in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2:
- you are teleported to a training realm built for the occasion: the rocky wasteland for the Martial Arts Master, Kame Island with Kame House and the open sea for Master Roshi, the forest of Korin’s Sacred Land with the tower and Kami’s Lookout in view for Korin, the empty white Hyperbolic Time Chamber for Kami;
- you cannot leave the ring in any way: walking, flying or being knocked out of it brings you back inside;
- after a countdown the fight begins, with a time limit;
- win or lose, you are sent back to the exact spot where the trial started, even after a disconnect.
Iconic locations
- Generated once per world near spawn, each with its Master:
- Kame House on its own island in the nearest ocean;
- Korin Tower, a tall pillar with Korin’s sanctuary at the top;
- Kami’s Lookout, floating above the tower, with the palace, towers, trees and the red-patterned rim.
/tenkaichi landmarksshows where they are.- The iconic locations are indestructible and surrounded by a safe zone: nobody can break or place blocks there, explosions (from techniques, TNT or creepers) leave them untouched, and no mobs or animals spawn inside except the Masters who live there.
- World migration: worlds created with an earlier version are updated automatically the first time they are loaded. Kame House, Korin Tower and Kami's Lookout are cleaned up and rebuilt (damage is repaired), the safe zones are registered and duplicate Masters are removed. Operators can rebuild them at any time with
/tenkaichi landmarks rebuild.
Commands
/tenkaichi landmarks(everyone),/tenkaichi landmarks rebuildand/tenkaichi trial start|end(operators)./tenkaichi learnalso accepts the Kaioken.
Changed
- The old generic hairstyles were replaced by the canonical ones; existing characters are moved to the closest canonical style automatically.
- Auras are much more visible: the flames always face the camera and are strongest around the body, so they no longer look like thin transparent stripes.
- The Forms tab of the character menu shows every requirement of each transformation, green when met and red when missing, with a Trial button.
- The Martial Arts Master menu now lists lessons with their price, requirements and trial button.
- Racial techniques are no longer unlocked automatically by Battle Power.
- Transformations no longer need a near-death rage: they use Potential, a balanced base Battle Power and a trial against yourself.
- Outfits no longer have the white round emblem on the chest, and the hands no longer show leftover outfit color.
- The character creator preview background is smooth instead of banded.
- Final Flash is bigger and more destructive: a wider, longer beam and much larger explosions.
- Big Bang Attack blasts a crater into the ground where it hits, with a scorched floor.
- Explosions from fights and techniques grow with the attacker's Battle Power, within safe limits: the largest radius is capped and the destruction is spread over several ticks so the server never stalls. New settings:
maxDestructionBlocksPerTick,scaleExplosionsWithBattlePower,protectLandmarks,landmarkSafeZoneRadius; existing configs are updated to the new default limits. - Super Saiyan 2 hair was redesigned: a single bang over the forehead, large sharp spikes swept up and back and spikes sticking out at the sides.
- Pressing F1 now hides the Tenkaichi HUD too (cutscenes stay visible).
- Auras, beams and ki blasts no longer make water and other translucent blocks behind them disappear.
Fixed
- Big Bang Attack and Death Beam used the damage and explosion of a plain ki blast.
- Large Training Point amounts no longer overlap the text next to them on the HUD; big numbers are shortened (e.g. 123.4K).
