Create Wareworks

Build real automated warehouses for Create. Stacker cranes physically store and fetch your items along rails. Nothing teleports. Order from a terminal, sort chests with Create filters and let your own machines produce on demand.

What's new

Added

  • A Display Link on the Warehouse Controller or the Warehouse Terminal can show one number about the warehouse. The new source "Warehouse Number" has a selector in the Display Link screen for what it shows: items stored, item types, fluid stored, locations in use, locations in total, locations in use as a percentage, open requests, production orders, rules below their minimum, rules at their maximum, stopped products, accepting ports, collecting ports and misaligned blocks. Nixie Tubes can now show "Items 176" instead of only "Warehouse A: Ready", and open requests and production orders, which only the controller's goggles showed, can go on a display too. Locations in use count a Fluid Bay that holds fluid, as the Warehouse Summary now does. The "Label" box puts your own word in front of the number, and a display board gives the label and the number columns of their own. A block that belongs to no warehouse, and a controller whose crane dock is missing, shows "No warehouse". The Display Link screen still opens on the Warehouse Summary, and existing links keep the source they had

Changed

  • Server and players have to update together. A client with this version cannot join a server with an older one, and an older client cannot join a server with this one, because a click with an item on a storage filter slot is now applied by the server (see Fixed below)
  • The hover tip of a storage location's filter slot now says how to reach the priority and which way it ranks. It reads "Hold with an empty hand to set the priority; higher fills first", and the Ponder scene "Rack Bays in a Warehouse Aisle" says the same
  • The server config now says what the crane's speed cap and stress setting really do. In wareworks-server.toml, crane.maxBlocksPerTick read as a cap for "each crane axis"; it caps travel and lift (and with travel the turns at corners), not the arm, and with the default factors it is never reached up to Create's default top speed of 256 RPM, so it has to be lowered to have an effect. crane.stressImpact now says that a kinetic network that is already running counts a change only once the crane joins it again (break and place the shaft under the dock, or change the speed at the source), because Create keeps the stress it read when the crane joined the network, and that after a restart the network's total follows only at its next change. crane.armExtendPerTickPerRpm now says that the arm never extends faster than fully in one tick. The values themselves and their defaults are unchanged; the file picks up the new comments the next time a world or server starts

Fixed

  • A click with an item on the filter slot of a Warehouse Interface, a Rack Bay or a Fluid Bay now sets the filter at once. The filter was only set when the button was released: holding the click a moment too long opened the priority board instead, which a low frame rate made more likely, and moving the mouse off the slot before letting go lost the click without a word. Now the filter is set the moment you press, and holding the button or moving the mouse changes nothing; a button held down elsewhere that slides onto the slot sets nothing either. A Create filter item is still taken from your hand and the one it replaces given back. The priority board opens when you hold the click with an empty hand or a wrench, and a short click with an empty hand still clears the filter
  • The Warehouse Summary's "Locations" line counts a Fluid Bay that holds fluid as in use, so a warehouse with fluid bays can read full. A fluid bay was counted in the total but never as in use, however full it was, so a chest of items and two full bays read "Locations: 1 / 3". An empty bay still counts as free
  • The German texts call the filter slot "Filterfeld" everywhere. The Warehouse Interface's tooltip and two Ponder lines said "Filterplatz", while every other text said "Filterfeld"
